I am curious as to what film the song Naach Re Mayura is from? It is
sung by Manna Dey.
Thanks,
Radium
It's a NON FILM Song sung by Manna Dey.Lyrics by Pt.Narendra Sharma;
Music by Anil Bishwas. Released in 1969.

Based largely on an earlier Anil Biswas number, "Ja Main Tose Naahin
Bolun" (sung by Lata in "Sautela Bhai" some years earlier).

This was a very special song composed for Akashwani by Anil Biswas.
The very first song to be played on Vividh Bharati..
Snehashish ji, the year should be 1959 not 1969..
Pavan
Dear Pavan:
You surely did not mean the first ever song to be played on Vividh Bharati!

Happy Listenings.

Satish Uncle,
I believe it was.. It was the inaugural song of Vividh Bharati.. and
the VBS services launched with this song in 1957...
regards,
Pavan
PS: "Ritu Aaye-Ritu Jaaye, Ritu Laaye" has a detailed story on this
song..
Lavanya Shah (daughter of Ptd.Narendra Sharma)
[lavan...@yahoo.com] wrote me : "At the inauguration of Vividh
Bharati service the very first song to be played was none other than
"Naach re mayuuraa"."....
Snehasis
Arunabha Roy had made made a post about 'naach re
mayuraa' in June 2003, and mentioned a song 'yug
ki sandhya kiska panth ...'
Anil Biswas had composed this non-film song : 'yug kii
sa.ndhyaa kisakaa pa.nth nihaar rahii' around the same
time. It was sung by Lata and aired on Vividh Bharati.
Apparently, the recording was damaged after just one
playing. I don't know which media was used (spool
tape, maybe?) to record songs on before they were
aired on radio but the story sounds very suspicious.
The song was written by Narendra Sharma. Are the
lyrics of the song available? What about the availability
or details about the disappearance of the song itself?

It looks like 'naach re mayuraa' came earlier. But I
am glad that we got to hear the remodelled tune in
Lata's voice in Sautela Bhai some years later.

The song "Nach Re Mayura" is still available now.
But the song sung by Lataji is destroyed (!!!!!!!).How? Don;t know. I
think there is at least one collector in this world who had recorded
the song- "Yug Ki Sandhya Krishak Badhu Si".
Details will be available with Lavanyaji.
Now that the year is changed to 1957, it is more acceptable. {That is what
I was alluding to.}
