Mother india ( Dukh bahre din bite re bhaiyya ..i guess) bt was not
aware of this solo song.
Need more info on this song and also has he sang any other songs for
naushad ?

This is a quartet with Manna/Rafi/Lata/Shamshad. The way Mehboob
picturized it, a duet would've sufficed. I wonder how Mehboob Sahab
overlooked this. It's weird to see Rafi and Manna alternate as the
voice for the hero in the same line.

me hai Bhagwan, maango milega sabko daan..." (starts with "Sangeet hai

Let us take this occasion to complete the Manna Dey, Naushad collaborations:
they span two more Hindi films and one Bhojpuri film. Of these, 'Palki' ('67)
is an important soundtrack, for two reasons. It is still during the
Shakeel time-frame and Manna Dey's vocal identity is deliberatively
used, unlike the next soundtrack, where Manna is used more like a
generic male voice. In 'Palki', Manna is featured in three occasions,
two of them being different instances of the title song:
mere ghar se pyaar kii paalakii chalii ga_ii
(Manna Dey solo and a version by Lata, Rafi, and Manna Dey)
The other song is the qawwwaali
mai.n idhar jaa_uu.N yaa udhar jaa_uu.N
sung by Rafi, Manna Dey, Aziz Nazan, Asha and chorus.
In 'Love and God' ('86 release), Manna shows up in two parts of
the "muhabbat Khudaa hai" cycle, once with Lata and chorus and
then again just with chorus (lyrics by Khumar Barabankvi).
In addition, Manna is one of the singers in the multi-singer
affair "rahegaa jahaa.N me.n teraa naam, bane.nge teraa biga.De
kaam". The singer list is: Rafi, Talat, Hemant, Manna Dey,
Balbir, Khan Mastana, Suman Kalyanpur and chorus. Incidentally,
this is the only song where Nausad and lyricist Asad Bhopali
worked together.
Finally, Manna Dey has sung two songs for Naushad for a Bhojpuri
film, 'Paan Khaaye Saiyaan Hamaar' ('82), with lyrics by Ramamurti
Chaturvedi.
Interestingly, there is no proper duet of Manna Dey, composed
by Naushad.

almostall male singers excluding kishor.

there was a discussion on this song about two years ago. Some members attributed different
spellings and different meanings to the first word of
"ju.ndhariyaa kaTatii jaa_e, umariyaa ghaTatii jaa_e"?
I had wrote that it has above spelling and it means the crop of "jwaar" which is called
"ju.ndharii" in northern U.P. That is the crop the cast has harvesting while this song was
playing to show the flow of time, growth of kids amidst the set routine.

ISB does not have any song of the great Naushaad + Manna Dey.
But Arunabha had posted the lyrics of this song some time back.

But I do not have entire lyrics from her post, thus no singer info. Maybe she could mention and
send the lyrics.
Sami writes that it has "Manna/Rafi/Lata/Shamshad".
The info I have compiled from different sources says that it was Manna/Rafi/Asha/Shamshad.
Incidentaly almost everywhere males have sung jointly, and females have sung jointly thus it is
not easy to identify the voices. Just at two places
"dekho re ghaTaa ghir ke aa_ii" and "ras bhar\-bhar laa_ii"; and
"madhur\-madhur manavaa gaa_e" and "apane bhii din aa_e"
there are solo female voices. your might try to identify in these portions.

Love and God ( Mohabbat aur Kudaa) was released incomplete in 1986. Ashok has answered this
part.
The time warp proved fatal for the film but it had the great music by the great composer from
his peak time.

Just a query, why did you freeze the site (url posted by prof.)?
Please consider making another site for other things that came our after that site was frozen.
I shall be posting lyrics of about 75 songs of the great naushaad saab in next week. Seeking
your help in that. pstats/ corrections/ completions.
Was there ever any series on this towering composer, the great Naushad saab?
