BTW, movie Snehal is referring to might be "zanzar" i.e. "paayal". One that
I am referring to might mean something else, probably "pralay". CAn anybody
confirm ?

Yes, "Zanzaar" that surely does not means "paayal", it's menaing is some what
close to ruins.

It was one of the last ( or simply the last) movies made by V. Shantaram. It was
suppose to be launch vehicle for his grand-son Sushant Ray, who has also acted
in movies like Baazigar (role of the cop). Movie also had Padmini Kolhapure. I have
a cassette which has one song from this movie "Shantnu re" and a very different
tune. I think the music was by Vasant Desai.

Perhaps you can verify (from your tape). I think that the
music score was by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Yes, Sushant Ray later had to rename himself as "Siddhartha" to stage
comeback through "Vansh", "Baazigar" etc.

You are right about the song : that's the one that was on my mind. And you
are right : very different tune for a VS movie. A bit faster. It has one
stanza that goes like

"tera jo naam liya (2)
dil ye thaam liya
aake lag ja gale" .
