Need info on Song: some words are: "Apne kiye pe koi pasheman ho gaya"

Ive been humming a tune from my child hood for a few days
now and the only words that come to me are the following:
Apne kiye pe koi pasheman ho gaya
.......meri maut ka saman ho gaya
I think its a mujra song by Lata, but Im not sure.

Tanhaa ji - I think you should try to learn how to search
rmim archives. Let me try to get you started. Go to
www.google.com;
choose 'groups' tab;
choose 'advanced groups search' (not necessary in this case,
but a useful thing to know);
set newsgroup='rec.music.indian.misc';
(don't type quotation marks)
in the topmost edit-box, marked 'with all of the words',
type 'merii maut kaa saamaan lata' (don't type quotation marks);
and press Enter.

Or, alternatively..
1. go to www.giitaayan.com
2. put the words you remember from the mukhada/title of the song in
the search box (e.g.: Apne kiye pe koi or, Apne kiye pe koi pasheman
ho gaya or, pasheman ho gaya) in the way you would write it normally -
no iTrans required.
3. Press Enter.

That information is EXTREMELY useful to someone entirely new to the concept
of newsgroups and how they function. A rather silly doubt, though, can
non-members search the archives of a particular newsgroup? Or does it vary
from group to group? I do apologise if this sounds trivial. There may never
be a better opportunity to clarify my doubt!

There is no such thing as 'member of a newsgroup'.
Just as google (web-)search is open to everyone, so is
google groups-search.

thanks a lot for the help. I tried Consolidated ISB, but some how did
not persevere. I now know of more options. Thanks once again.

not the same. Both searches should be carried out since
both searching mechanisms have different strengths.
For example, groups-search may fail for 'pasheman ho gaya'
whereas giitaayan will do the needful for it by trying out for
'gayaa' as well.
But consider the string : 'javaanii daaman ko banaa'. This
song was mentioned only partially on rmim long time ago
by Urzung Sahab. A search on giitaayan for that search-string
won't help but google-groups will search for it with success.

The film should definitely be available on VHS/DVD/VCD. They have
shown it on the Dishnetwork channels (B4U/Zee Cinema) a couple of
times.

Which label was it released on? Was there another combo-film
soundtrack on the tape/CD release? Also, if possible, the CS/CD
