I am looking for more lyrics that portray such sentiments. Can the
knowledgeables please suggest me some more of these unconventional
lyrics? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Gyan
How about this song from "Saraswati Chandra"? This is sung
by Lata and is quite melodious.
"Chodde saari duniya usi ke liye
Yeh munasib (sp?) nahi aadmi ke liye
Pyar se bhi zaroori kaye kaam heim
Pyar sab kuch nahi zindagi ke liye"
This song is romantically unromantic.
In the antra she says:
"Ek duniya ujHad bhi gaye hai to kya
Doosara ko tum kya basathe nahi....
Chand milata nahi, sabka sansar mein
Hein diya hi bahut roshni ke liye"
The last two lines are the words of a loser, I guess.
Can somebody post the words of this song?
Sanjeev

I think this antara goes :
Kitnii hasrat se taktii hain kaliyaan tumhen
kyun baharon ko phir se bulaate nahin
Ek duniyaa ujad hi gayii hai to kya
Doosraa tum jahan kyun basate nahin
Dil na chahe bhi to, saath sansaar ke
chalna padta hai sabki Khushii ke liye...
The first antara is:
tan se tan ka milan ho na paayaa to kya
man se man ka milan koi kam to nahin
Khushboo aatii rahe door hii se sahii
saamne ho chaman koi kam to nahin
chaand miltaa nahin sabko sansaar mein
Hai diiyaa hi bahut roshnii ke liye...

I think its an attitude of adjusting with life and going on. The sentiment of
the entire song is that of going on (urging another to go on)with life in the
face of a love's loss.
And that by no means can be an attitude of a loser, methinks.

I am not sure that there isn't a third antara so check ISB

Thanks for posting the correct lyrics of the song.
What I forgot to add in my posting was a few "IMHO"s.
Again IMHO, If we start attaining satisfaction with
only the second best (Diiyaa), there is no way we can
get perfect or be the best (Chaand). So, if the
attitude of the singer is that to console herself for
not getting the best in life, she is a loser. OK,
in case of her love, I agree, that she needs to look
forward for something else in life. But, not in general.

Most probably:
chhoD de saari duniya kisi ke liye

No. It is 'kayee' (rather, kaee).
There is no such word in Hindi as: kayee.n.

jao re jogi tum jao re (song #793)
I think so that movie had one (possibly two) more songs sung by Lata:
kasak ye din raat ki, chubhan ye bin baat ki,
bhalaa ye rog hai kaisa
Regards
-Bakulesh
And the unforgettable "Tumhen yaad karte-karte, jaayegii rain saari..."
-Archana

"Tumhe.n zindagi ke ujale mubarak
Andhero.n hum aaj raaz (??) aa gaye.n he.n
Tumhe paake hum, khud se door hogaye.n the
Tumhe chodkar apne paas, aagaye the"
This sad song from Mukesh is quite melodious too.
The last two lines is quite poetic. Does he mean that
he had to pretend to be somebody else just to gain her?
And now that he has left her, he is back to his old
self. Or does it mean something else related to the
story/context of the movie? Please somebody clarify.

Well Gyan you should like most of what Sahir composed! Most of the
songs of Guru Dutt's "Pyassa" music: SD Burman - "Yeh mahaloon yeh
takhto"
BR Chopra's (Actually Chopra brothers were Sahir's biggest admirers)
Gumrah Music Ravi "Chalo ek baar phir se" and "Aap aaye khayalen
dil-e-nakaam aaya"
and many more like Soni Ki Chidya Music OP Nayyar etc.
