Does anyone know what his initials M. M. stand for?
Is Kreem his given name? What does it mean? I used
to think it was his surname, but I guess I was wrong.
-Prithviraj
His full name is Maragadhamani Keeravani.
He uses the name Maragadhamani in Tamil films,
M.M Keeravani in Telugu Films.

Anna Mayya is none other than the great saint Annamacharya.
Anna Mayya starred Nagarjuna (the hero of Criminal) in the title
role.

I suppose it is just the name of a character in the
film. Or is it a reference to B. Pattabhi
Sitaramayya, prominent Congress leader who wrote
an authoritative history of the Congress Party ?
I had the privilege of meeting him once in the mid -
fifties.

I could not get the first M correctly, but it was something
like "muthumil maNi kriim".
I am also curious about Kreem part. During his initial
phases in HFM, he was called Kareem.
Father's name "shivdutt" does not follow the nomenclature
style of south indians.

just the name of the character. no reference to the congress leader.

Ramoji Rao also owns the regional newspaper Eenadu and a Cable Channel with
the same name. There is an english newspaper too called Newsxxxx, which
probably shut down some time ago. I may be wrong on the last one.

This was remade into Hindi as Udhar ki Zindagi. Kajol played the
granddaughter's role with Jeetendra played the grandfather. In the Telugu
one the roles were essayed by Meena and A Nageshwara Rao respectively.

I think he has composed one of my all-time favorite song "Tu Mil Gaye" from
the movie Criminal - but I could be wrong!
Hope Shyam Benegal's forthcoming "Netaji" will put some
light on Sitaramayya - Subhash Chandra Bose - Gandhi ji
episode that became the turning point in Bose's life.
One of three or four incidents when Gandhi's role does not
appear so straight-forward.
The movie and music is ready for quite some time. I wonder
what they are waiting for to release it.
Music is by ARR.
