Hi Ashok ji,
Well i do like RD's music and wanted to know if he composed
a lot of qawwalis which are very much different from the kind of music
he generated. Personally my favourites are the qawwalis from Mughal -e-
Azam (naushad) and Barsaat ki Raat (roshan). Last night i was listening
to Hum kisi se kum nahin and i really liked it even though there is a
slight touch of western instruments when Rafi saab/ Asha ji do the
aaa...... . The lyrics are also entertaining. Otherwise it is quite
a stereotype qawwali. Probably you could suggest some qawwali's with
little "innovations". Also the qawwali Anand Kuppuswamy suggested from
"The burning train" is also O.K. I like the opening lines very much.
Pal do Pal ka saath hamaara Pal do pal ke yaraane hain.
regards
Anand
