You mean Govt. of Pakistan is not giving any awards in any
fields of Arts?
btw, are there any Miss Pakistan contest? What about Mr Pakistan?
Is there equivalent of Binaca Geet Mala or some Top 10 for
Pakistani songs where we could hear on radio or see on TV the
current hits of Pakistan?
Runa Laila was originally from Bangladesh (Post-division). Has
she rendered in Pakistani film industry also ever since?

They indeed have some awards.

The above url speaks of:
- Pakistan Film Awards 2000
- 20th Asian Cultural Film Awards 2000, and
- 44th Nigar Film Awards 2000
But, I could not find info on any more latest awards.

AFAIK, Runa Laila's first record was an EMI Pakistan release in the
early 60s (1962?). She has a couple of discs in the 60s, all EMI
Pakistan. Most of these are non-film - ghazals and maybe some Indy-pop,
all Urdu. I've only seen these records, not heard them. Don't have much
idea about her Pakistani film songs output. Maybe someone more familiar
with her body of work could comment.
Her first record in Bengali from India (red nipper HMV label) was a
1981 release, a 45 rpm EP with 4 songs that were very popular. After
that, I think she had a non-film Hindi-pop album called Super-Runa (was
it with BhappiL?) around 1982-3 that was modestly popular.
AFAIR, roughly around this time she gave playback to some Bollywood
film songs as well.

I think she made her debut in India much before 1981. I remember seeing her sing
"Ranjish hi sahi..." and "O laal meri...damadum mast qalandar" on Bombay
Doordarshan as early as 1977 or so.

A year earlier still, actually. She sang the title song of "Ek Se
Badkar Ek" (1976), music by Kalyanji-Anandji.
