Hi all,
My sis sent me this list that appeared in the Sunday Mid-Day newspaper in Mumbai
this past weekend, and I am posting this on her behalf. She has only sent me the
list of the copied songs, and has requested us RMIMers to guess the originals.
Ofcourse this is NOT the list of all Hindi songs that have been copied, since
there are some major ones left out, like the SJ song from Jaanwar(rather well
done) - "Dekho ab to tumko nahin hai khabar" which is a direct lift from "I
Wanna Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles.

it's in the film "TRISHAKTI".
P.P.S : Going by this list, Anu Malik's name leads the pack with 12 nominations,
followed by L-P with 9, Rajesh Roshan with 7, Bappi Lahiri with 5, and
Nadeem-Shravan and RDB rounding off the top 5 with 4 nominations each.
P.P.S : RaviK, can you give a rough count of how many songs RDB has copied? Just
curious. If you know all the copied ones, that's fine, but if not, just the
number will do. Thanks.

Speaking of AHAT the song initial and end of song - Aaya hoon yaaron
is not inspired but it is a straight lift from Deep purple's "Sweet

I always thought this song was:
"Kisike kaam na ayegi yeh Ladki" - classic case of misheard lyrics!

Da Bangles!!!
Hi,
I was "on hold", the other day. And I swear they played a song which was
exactly like
"Gupt Gupt" of movie Gupt. It wasn't an English song, as the wordings
were in
some other language...
Damn another song, straight lift off...
Ritesh
PS : Anyone know the original ?

Walk like an Egyptian was by the Bangles.
I thought Kalanji Anandji did a great job of adapting the Bangles song.
I've never had any qualms of our MDs copying or adapting or whatever you
prefer to call it. It was the manner in which it was executed that
determined the quality of the song. After all, every song is inspired
from one source or another.

The music is very similair to an old HIndi(early 80's) movie starring
Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman.I couldn't remember the title of the film.

Thanks for patiently typing down the entire list! I see that the list
contains pre-dominantely (/only!) post-70s songs. 3-4 years ago Mr.
Chandvankar of SIRC (by now RMIMers 'd be aware of what SIRC is, if not
pl. go thru Ms. Nayak's writeups on Vasant Desai) presented a programme:
Hindi film songs based on European/Latin American tunes. I remember
quoting about 10 of them from his list 30+ here on RMIM. Perhaps that
entire list should be posted here (and also one 'd try to compile a long
list of 'songs "inspired" by foreign tunes').
