post the hindi lyrics searching on the archives. I will translate.

something from my fading memory. corrections invited.

There is a happy version and a sad version. you are talking about the
sad version, but have both.

Ye zindagi usii kii hai, jo kisi ka ho gaya,
pyaar mein hi kho gaya.

ye bahaar, ye sama, keh raha hai pyaar kar,
kisii kii aarzoo mein apne dil ko beqaraar kar
aa rahi hai ye sada, loot pyaar ka maza

dhadak raha hai dil to kya, dil kii dhadkane.n na gin
phir kaha.n ye fursate.n, phir kaha.n ye raat din
()

sad version:

sunaayegi ye daastaa.n, shamaa mere mazaar kii
khizaa.n mein bhii khilii rahi, ye kali anaar kii
ise mazaar mat kaho, ye mahal hai pyaar ka

jo dil yahaa.n na mil sake, mile.nge us jahaan mein
khile.nge hasrato.n ke phool, jaa ke aasmaan mein
ye zindagi chali gayi, jo pyaar mein to kya huaa.

ai zindagii kii shaam aa, tujhe gale lagaaoo.n main,
tujhii mein doob jaaoo.n main, jahaa.n ko bhool jaaoo.n main
bas ek nazar mere sanam, alvida, alvida

----------------------
there are a lot of mistakes in it. please correct, then translation will
be more meaningful.

great chitalkar ramchandra.

I was disappointed by "mohabbat mein aise kadam ladkhadaaye" music. That
is not upto the dignity of a mughal court, drunk or sober.

By the way, the "alvidaa" is sung a total of eight times in the end.

And the order of the above three stanzas in the film, if we number them 1, 2,
and 3, was 2, 1, and 3.

Happy listenings.

Enjoy.
-Rawat

The way she says "dhadak" (raha hai dil to kya), the heart really skips
a beat in the beautiful voice and music.

-------------------

Ye zindagi usii kii hai, jo kisi ka ho gaya,

(only that person is having a life, who has belonged to someone)

pyaar hii me.n kho gayaa
(the one, who has immersed him/herself in only love)

ye bahaar, ye sama.n, keh raha hai pyaar kar,
(this spring season, this scenery is urging you to fall in love)

kisii kii aarzoo me.n apne dil ko beqaraar kar
(it is urging you to make your heart restless by waking up desires of
some special one)

aa rahi hai ye sada, mastiyo.n me.n duub jaa
(this call is coming. drown yourself in the enjoyment of love)

dhadak raha hai dil to kya, dil kii dhadkane.n na gin

(what if the heart is beating, count not the beats of heart)

phir kaha.n ye fursate.n, phir kaha.n ye raat din

(such free time will not be there ever after, nor will there ever be
night and day like this)

zi.Ndagii hai bewafaa, loot pyaar ka maza
(life is unfaithful, steal the enjoyment of love)

----------------------
sad version:

jo dil yahaa.n na mil sake, mile.nge us jahaan mein

(those hearts who could not become one in this world, shall meet in that
other world)

khile.nge hasrato.n ke phool, jaa ke aasmaan mein

(the flowers of desires shall blossom after we go to live above the
skies)

ye zindagi chali gayi, jo pyaar mein to kya huaa.

(what if this life had to be cut short by someone, just because you had
committed the crime of falling in love)

sunaayegi ye daastaa.n, shamaa mere mazaar kii

(the candle burning at my grave will recount this story of mine)

khizaa.n me.n bhii khilii rahi, ye kali anaar kii
(that this bud of pomgranate (name of the girl anaar-kali) remenained
blooming even during fall.

ise mazaar mat kaho, ye mahal hai pyaar ka

(call it not a grave, this is rather a palace of love)

ai zindagii kii shaam! aa, tujhe gale lagaaoo.n main,
(O the dusk of the life, please come so that I can embrace you)

tujhii mein doob jaaoo.n main, jahaa.n ko bhool jaaoo.n main

(so that i may get drown in your tranquility, so that I can forget this
cruel world)

bas ik nazar, mere sanam, alvida, alvida
(but before that, may I get just on look at my beloved), farewell. adieu

alvida, alvida, alvida, alvida, alvida, alvida

Thanks, Rawat, for the translation. I have one serious doubt--about
the Hindi/Urdu original itself.

>The way she says "dhadak" (raha hai dil to kya), the heart really skips

Yes. I think the music comes to a halt for a split second.
Lovely effect.

I find "jaa ke aasamaan me.n" very weak and ineffective. I think
it is "baaG-e-aasamaan me.n".

The word 'luuT' here should not be literally translated to 'steal'.
None of the connotations associated with 'steal' fits well
in the context of that line - 'loot pyaar kaa mazaa'.
It is used to mean - 'enjoy without stint'. If you insist upon
a word which has associations with 'stealing', use the word
'plunder' in the translation.

To my ears [such as they are :)], it does sound like she's
singing "jaa ke aasmaan me.n"
