Main Khiladi tu Anari is in its 2 week at Albion Cinemas.
*ing Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Rajeshwari, Ajit, Kadar Khan,
Shakti Kapoor!
The movie Main Khiladi.... is an ok movie. Not worth $8. A dissapointment
after Baazigar and Khiladi. Saif Ali is the highlight of the movie.
The music is good. COuld be a hit though!
Worth $4. (**3/4)

There isn't any violence. No villains either. The only problem is
the length of the movie - 20 reels (a typical hindi movie is 14 reels)
and 14 songs !! Some editing would have helped.

As some critic pointed out in an Indian Newspaper, The whole movie is
a big Colgate Advertisment. Every one keeps smiling all the time:-)

You are right farook.. it was an absolute waste of time. The only thing that
can be said for the movie is that it had no sex or violence. (big deal ,
eh?). Other than that there was not even an iota of creativity or talent
in this entire ridiculous excuse for a movie.

The answer is simple. HAHK has Madhuri in it.

Madhuri Dixit......All the ads that I have been watching on videos (for
the past year !) show only Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor.......When
did Madhuri popped in ? ?

Don't get me wrong (I loved 1942 - A love story) but to put it lightly,
its called MASS ENTERTAINER, ....mucho money....1 that brings in the most
dough is automatically a hit in India....whereas its a bekar flop if the
story is good. 2 bad though. BTW - is there really such a quality film
out there in Hindi?

I did!!!! Don't have a hissy fit! If you caught my mistake, then you must
have also read my followup to my own followup. As soon as I had sent the
first article, I realized my mistake. And I immediately sent the
submission of mistake.
Well, you must have read my first post and respond to it. Then you read
the followup to my own followup. So, "jo howa so howa!" I'll go to have
some of that coffee now.
Actually I think this was a good movie for the big screen. In
general most Hindi movies rarely attempt any brilliant storyline etc. It
is the song dance sequence that keeps the movie going. I think the dances
in this movie were very good (especially Madhuri and Salman doing the
Ballet imitation). Also the photography was great. It was a great movie to
take my kids to. It was a good
"G" movie. Not having much of a story made the explanations rather simple.
(Actually those of you who are kidless may not realize that there are
very few real "G" hindi movies to take your kids to. Most of them (even
the real kiddy ones like Haathi mere Saathi or Do aur Do panch) have violence
in them that is not appropriate for very young kids.) This was a good
walt disney type movie and the over acting made it fun for the kids. But
do not look for anything deep in it.It was probably a real N.R.I movie .
(Good for NRI kids who do not understand too much Hindi and love hindi
songs and dances or maybe also NRI - as in Nogoodfor Resident Indians:-).

Well I agree that H-A-H-K may not be the best movie that I've seen but
before I say anything else when it comes to reality, aren't 99.9% of all
hindi movies stupid anyways? I saw HAHK on the big screen when it came
out and frankly I thought it was a well rounded family story. I do agree
with you in saying that the movie was a bit too long and could have
definitely used some editing. Why is it that every single hindi movie I
watch has to have either a rape scene or a fighting scene in it? I can
understand if a certain action-drama movie has a lot of fighting and
violence, but how about a simple romantic tale or a family drama. You
are watching a movie and suddenly the whole thing turns violent. Do
you think that Indian directors try to pack everything: comedy, violence,
sex, dance, etc. into one movie? Maybe that's why they cannot come up
with something shorter than 3-3 1/2 hours.
Anyway, I think the HAHK compared to the average hindi movie is far well
descent and realistic. I understand that sex and violence are part of
life but when they are depicted in movies they have to be done so with a
lot of work. By the way I'm wondering whether Colgate paid Rajshri
Productions any money for all those smiles.
