Moon (Chaand) songs ?

Hi,

We have got a few theme lists.
How about beginning a new series. Chaand, Chandni, Chandrama or songs that
have anything to do with the moon etc.

This should be pretty easy. In fact this should be the longest list of songs
so far.

Here are the starters:-

- Ye Chaand khila wo taare hanse ye raat ajab matwali hai

- Chaudhaveen ka chaand ho ya afataab ho

- Ye raat, ye chaandni, phir kahan sun ja dil ki daastaan

- Chanda hai tu mera sooraj hai tu

- Soohani chaandni raatein hamein sone nahin detein

Please add on. Khel Khel mein achchey gaane yaad aa jayenge!

there are innumerable songs on ( I mean about ) moon,
because firstly, it is considered beatiful, though black. refer these lines

secondly it rises ( jagataa hein ) in the night, giving company to both
lovers and broken hearts ( who can't sleep ).

First of all, the following has nothing to do with chand:

: 02 Chandan sa badan chanchal chitvan .... Saraswati chandra

Perhaps one of the most beautiful chand songs is Hemant's

Dekho woh chand chhupkar karta hai kya isharey..

Another two are:

Husn se chand bhi sharmaya hai..

and the lesser-known

O raat ke musafir, chanda zara bata de.. ('Miss Mary' I think is the name of
the film).

By the way, there are two sorts of chand songs here:

One which involve the old satellite in a substantial sort of way, like
'Chand phir nikla..' or 'Dekho woh chand..'. Here we are really talking about
the moon (I mean, THEY are). The other sort are 'Chand si mehbooba ho meri..'
or 'Chaudahvin ka chand ho..'. Here the moon motif is thrown in just to
flatter the old girl, by insinuating it does not compare favourably with here
in matters of beauty. So picking the moon as a suitable article to compare
Madhubala's or Asha Parekh's face with is one thing, and talking about the
moon in a more sincere sort of way is another, isn't it?!

I hope at least some get the point !!

Hi there!!

I think the best "chaand" song i have ever come across is the one
from Abdullah . *ing Sanjay Khan and Zeenat Aman. It goes like this:

Maine puchcha chaand se ke dekah hai kahiN
mere yaar sa hasin , chand ne kaha chandini
ki kasam nahi nahi nahiiii.......

Great lyrics and a wondrful job done by Rafi.

If anyone can post the complete song , it will be
great.

This song is from Kalakar and not Star. I think it starred Manoj Kumar's son.
