>Can't decide on frequency.
Try AM1188kHz :):)
(That is the frequency of Vividh Bhartiya - Bombay Kendra)
Thanks, Snehal, for starting this series. I for one will avidly
look forward to the info. you might be able to provide. And I
am sure I echo the sentiments of fellow RMIMers.
Best regards,

Song: Teri Yaad Ka Dipak Jalataa Hai (2)
Is Dil Ke Mere Virane Me (Harsh and Vishaad - Two Parts)
Film: Gavaiya (1954)
Music: Ram Ganguli
Lyrics: Hasarat Jaipuri (?)
Singer: Surendra Nath
*ing: Surendra Nath (?)
This film is more famous for two things. One it's music director is Ram Ganguli,
who is turn is famous due to his fabulous music for first RK Films film Aag in
1948; and second, for some very good Talat Mehmood songs. The most famous song
amongst the current generation, to my best guess should be 'Aise Tute Taar Ke
Mere Geet Adhhure Reh Gaye'; as our Vividh Bharati plays only that one! Although
historically that song is/was not the most famous of this film...
BTW, this song and other songs of this film gives us one more evidence
of creative genius of this music director. More about him later....
Abhi to main jawan hoon by Malika Pukhraj.
Does anyone have any tapes/CD of Farida Khanum... ghazal gaika. I have
only two of her works: (1) Aaaj jaane ki zid na karo and (2) Teri mehfil
mein hum na honge.....
I would love to exchange tapes if anyone's interested (please be... if
you have any more of her ghazals... oh puhleez!!!)
