Would somebody please post the lyrics (and meaning) for the second
line of the song from Baiju Bawra "Man tarpat hari darshan ko aaj"?
Having written it down phonetically from Rafi's enunciation, I have the
following:
Man tarpat hari darshan ko aaj
Mohe tum bin bheegare sagare kaaj
The second line as I have it down sounds like jibberish - cannot
phathom what it means. Kindly correct this. Thank you.

Meaning: All my tasks/work go awry without you (your guidance/blessing)
I have quoted the lines from memory but AFAIR, the 'sakal' does sound
like 'sagare'. It may be an accepted 'apabransha' of the word 'sakal'.
In any case, blame it on the poor audio quality of the recordings, not
on Rafi, please.

it is "more tum bin bigare sagare kaaj" - the meaning is as nita says,
with "bigare" as the dialectic equivalent of "bigaDe" (in fact, you
almost always see the form "bigare" in these bandish-like
compositions...contextually it is more appropriate perhaps). i think
rafi has pronounced the words as they were meant to be pronounced.

I am not sure what you mean by "contextually more appropriate".
However, sometimes I think the bandishes deliberately avoid
certain sounds (such as D, N, T, Th etc.) just because they
are harsh and might make singing difficult. Of course there
are bound to be many exceptions, but I do not recall anyone
doing extensive boltaans that incorporate the harsher sounds.
