lyrics: Shailendra
MD: Shanker-Jaikishan(sami, if u still think they are cheap i can send
u a copy of this song??:))
starring: Bina Rai and Premnath
Playback: Mukesh and Lata
L: Aiye dil na mujhse chhupa...
sach bata...kya hua...
M: Jaane bhi do dilruba...
jo hua...so hua...
L: taare gine raat bhar..
jaane kab yaad mein so gayi...
woh khwaab tha madbhara...
jismein behosh main kho gayi..
koi neend mein...humse rooth ke...
humko loot ke chal diya..
M: jaane bhi do dilruba...
jo hua so hua
M: Khidki na chhodo khuli...
pyaar ke chor hain taakmein..
kitnon ki chori hui...
madbhari chaandni raat mein..
aise marz ki...dil ke dard ki..
dil ka dard hi hai dawa...
L: aiye dil na mujhse chhupa..
sach bata...kya hua...
L: Baatein banao na ji..
raaz tou aapke khul gaye...
M: Aankhein churaao na ji..
Nain se nain tou mil gaye..
L: kya bura hua..dil machal gaya..
ghar badal gaya aapka..
M: jaane bhi do dilruba...
jo hua...so hua...
transliterators, can u pl. take care of this one??
thanks..

Does anyone have the list of songs in `Badal'? I know of two others, both
lovely. There is the Mukesh solo -
"maiN raahi bhatakne waalaa hoon
koi kya jaane matwaalaa hoon"
where the charming innocence in Mukesh's voice has been wonderfully
captured by Shankar-Jaikishan.
There is also the equally beautiful Lata solo -
"do din ke liye mehmaan yahaaN
maalum nahiN manzil hai kahaaN
armaan bharaa dil to hai magar
jo dil se mile wo dil hai kahaaN"
This tune is used in one of those `Unity Amidst Diversity' clippings
that occasionally shows up as a filler on Doordarshan when the Hindi news
unexpectedly ends a few minutes before 9:00 pm. The lines for the song go
like -
"har desh meiN tu, har vesh meiN tu
tera naam anek, tu ek hi hai"

There are four other Lata songs (at least) in Baadal. None of them is of the
calibre of the mukhDa of "do din ke liye mehmaan yahaa.n". (Yes, I find the
mukhDaa to be very nicely tuned, but the stanzas very flat. It is the reverse in
the Mukesh song above; I find only the last stanza interesting: "main machaloo.n to
ek aag bhi hun, etc.").
Of the four Lata songs I know, one is okay:
duniyaa badal rahi hai, aansoo bahaanewaale
ansoo bahaanewaale
toofaan aansuon ka palakon mein ab chhupaa le
ansonn bahaanewaale
The other three are quite charmingly innocent of melody or any other redeeming
feature!. Here they are, for whatever they are worth:
unse pyaar ho gayaa x2
dil meraa kho gayaa x2
(That's the mukhDaa, I think!)
aaj maane na moraa jiyaa, jhummak jhummak naache
ho saawan kaa mausam suhaanaa
(It is by Lata and chorus, with an attempted anokhe bol that did not pan out.)
and
anmol pyaar bin-mol bike is duniyaa ke baazaar mein
insaan bike eemaan bike is duniyaa ke baazaar mein
(When I first heard it, the very first line made me look forward to some good
lyrics, but the rest of the lyrics are quite humdrum, like the second line; so is
the tune.)
