Nikhil Banerjee last concert

Hi to all The late Nikhil Banerjee gave his last concert in USA in 1986 at
the Carnegie Hall in New-York where he played Hemant. Does anyone knows if
there is a recording of this avalaible ? This will be greatly appreciated.

There is a commercial recording of Hemant by Nikhil Banerjee with the
accompaniment of Kanai Dutta. But I doubt if this was from his last concert
(I don't think Kanai Dutta was around then). If there is a recording of his
last concert available I too would like to know about it.

You're right, this Hemant was recorded in Amsterdam in '70 (see
the Raga Records home page).

Aside, his last concert was at the Dover Lane Music Festival in
Calcutta, in January, '86, where he played Darbari and Hemant.
Swapan Chowdhury was on the tabla. It seems Darbari was one of
his favourite ragas, but no commercial recordings exist. Perhaps
Messrs. John Wilton and John Campana can do something about this?

Hi all,

Is this supposed to be a particularly good concert or are you curus because
it's his ast US concert? A propos, for his ve last concert before his death,
Nikhilda also played Hemant and Darbari as well.

Oh, btw,he recording from Carnegie Hall does exist, and so does the final
concert.
