Firstly, I think it is not correct to say that this song (neele nelle amber par..
in Kalakar) is based on a particular raaga as such since a raga is more than
just the scale. The best one can ask is this song corresponds to the scale of
which raaga. As far as I can tell this song for the most part follows the
scale of raaga NataBhairavi(mela). However, in the second stanza, it also takes
the note N3 which is not part of the Natabhairavi scale. Thus strictly speaking
this does not stick to the original scale. The tamil version from what I can
remember is different from the Hindi version and I don't know how faithful it
is to the Natabhairavi scale.
Again, this is what I think. I could be wrong and if so would be interested in
knowing the scale for this raaga from some knowledgeable netter.
