how about madhuban mein radhika nache re
and famous telugu song samaja vara gamana.
As many nettors may point out, Madhuban men Radhika is based on "Hameer
Raga", not Malkauns. Samajavaragamana is in the South Indian Hindolam,
equivalent to Malkauns.
As for Hindi songs, there aren't very many I can think of that are PURE
Malkauns like "Man Tarpat for (sic) Hari Darshan Ko Aaj" :)
There is one, from the movie Kaajal, by Asha B., "Dekho Chham Chham
Ghungroo Bole".
There are many songs BASED on Malkauns, with an occasional re or pa
thrown in for flavor...
Sau Baar Janam Lenge - Rafi, Ustadon KE Ustad
Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya - Title song, Rafi
Chhoo Lene Do - Rafi, Kaajal
Jaan-e-Bahaar Husn Tera - Rafi, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya
Raaz-e-Dil Unse Chhupaya Na Gaya - Rafi, Apna Banake Dekho
Zindagi Mujhko Dikhade Raasta - Rafi, Sanjh Aur Savera (??)
note that the MD for all songs except the last one, is RAVI. I wonder if
he had some special affinity for this raga (though these compositions,
esp. listened to one after another, get tiresome...)

PS: Mahendra Kapoor's first song might be from Sohini Mahiwal for
Naushad: Husn chala hai ishq se milne, zulm ki badali chhayi, raat
gazab ki aai.
"Mat Bhool Are Insaan, Teri Neki-Badi Nahin Usse Chhupi, Sab Dekh Raha
Bhagwaan!"
It's almost pure except for the bit of Pa on "bhag - WAAAAAN"
Sanjeev Ramabhadran
Speaking of malkauns' flavor in hindi film songs, "Aapke pehlu me aake ro
diye" (film: mera saaya) also seems to have a malkaunsian touch and that
is composed by Ravi as well. It sure sounds like the songs sanjeev
mentioned in his note.
