And, in general, is there a reference anywhere that lists the major recordings of
songs arranged by title and (maybe) artist?

I think this song was featured in the "Swara Raga Sudha" by Bala Murali Krishna
It's been a while, so I am not sure. This was a TV serial on Carnatic ragas,
and the whole thing was released as audio tapes.
