how many grandsons did bade ghulam ali khan sahib have?

Several. He had two sons, Karamat Ali and Munawwar Ali. Munawwar Ali
had two sons, Raza Ali and Shakir Ali. Karamat Ali, who did not pursue
music, had many sons, about six-seven or so. Naqi Ali is one of them,
so are the pair Jawad Ali and Mazhar Ali (who learnt largely from
their uncle Munawwar Ali). I am not sure who Naqi Ali learnt from,
indeed if at all he did.
Two other singers, Abdul Aziz and Marghoob Husain claim descent from
BGAK as well. It is confirmed that their paternal grandfather was Amir
Ali, who was the son of Kale Khan (and hence BGAK's cousin). It is
possible that AA and MH are also related to BGAK through their mother
(cousin marriage is common in musician families), but I have no
confirmation of this.
