I felt the same way when the Ramsingh shop in Girgaum closed down.

And from an email id created for the express purpose, it seems, since
google groups says this is his only post.
And in a great hurry too. If he knew the old gentleman, I'd think a
little longer obituary than the single word "unfortunately" was called
for.

I've sent you a mail.

Ajayji,
This, http://groups.google.com/group/rec.music.indian.classical/browse_thread/thread/64f4b3c9eae45851/dee5af8fb7978d64#dee5af8fb7978d64,
is where I read the rumour. There may be other places where it
appeared, but I don't know any others. Good to know it is not true.

I just came back from the local dairy with some milk, but totally
forgot to ask the shopkeeper whether he was operating the shop
legally. He Bhagwan! Ab mera kya hoga?

What utter bullshit! Are you trying to tell me there's a property
dispute going on in courts, that despite this fact one claimant
continues to "illegally" run the shop, and yet none of the other
claimants have sought an injunction from the court restraining him
from doing so? This means either that the aforesaid other litigants
have the world's most imbecilic lawyer, or (as is much likelier) that
they have no real legal claim on the basis of which they can demand
injunction. In other words, there's nothing illegal about the way the
shop is being run.

Good heavens! The licence to export is suspended, so is the bank
account (presumably thru the courts' intervention), and yet nobody
sought an injunction in respect of the business as such?
Your posts bear all the signs of a frustrated claimant who, not having
any legitimate claims, resorts to mailcious, defamatory posts to
extract revenge. Not only do you make such a sweeping claim without
adducing a shred of external corroboration, you don't even reveal your
true name.
You may think you've been very smart by posting thru a fake Gmail
account. Actually you've been careless enough to post directly thru
your ISP server (comcast.net), and not a web-based proxy (these days
even Sarangiya's clever enough to do that, which is saying a lot). In
any case, it won't be too difficult to trace you thru your Comcast
account. You have thus laid yourself bare to be prosecuted under
appropriate cybercrime laws as well as traditional law of criminal
defamation.
> regardless of the actions of a rogue employee.
You started by accusing a family member. Can't even lie consistently,
can you? A word of friendly advice, do prepare your story well if you
get hauled up in court. Else the opposing counsel will tear you apart
in cross-examination.
Abhik
Abhik, you're quite entertaining and I hope you get that lawyer
position you've been looking for so you'll have better use of your
time. I've had enough of you guys, the intent was to inform people of
what's going on so they didn't lose out on a purchase. Since you are
in Delhi, why can you not simply inform the group of what's going on
since you are in the area and 'presumably' have a knowledge of Indian
law. I'll expect a report of the situation from you soon and have a
dish of crow waiting for you, what kind of chutney would you like with
it? As for the gmail address, you also have one. I have removed the
posts, please everyone stop with the hate mail....
Sitarjunkie
Err, in point of fact I happen to be a lawyer, have been so the last
seven years. Thank you for your kind wishes, though.
> so you'll have better use of your time.
Given the way you've been using *your* time, I'd rather you didn't say
that.
> I've had enough of you guys
Is that a promise?
> the intent was to inform people of what's going on so they didn't lose out on a purchase.
No doubt that was your intent. It's your *motives* that are in
question.
> Since you are in Delhi, why can you not simply inform the group of what's going on
To take recourse to your language, I have "better use of my time".
Seriously, I see no reason why I should. I have not made a single
claim about the issue so far. All I have done is question your
bonafides. The burden of proof or onus probandi, as we lawyers say,
lies squarely on you. In other words, this is your call entirely, and
let's not delude ourselves it is otherwise.
> As for the gmail address, you also have one.
Read my post carefully. I had said "fake Gmail address". Nothing fake
about either my GMail account or the identity I have disclosed on
RMIC.
> I have removed the posts
And how did you manage that on USENET?
Abhik
Sad to see HR store go.
