I have two questions.

First, did you mean this UTK http://ustadtarikhan.com/, or this one
http://www.taritabla.com/, or yet another one we don't know of?

Second, will the ghazals sing themselves or has the Tabla Ustad got a
side business as a singer (like the late VK, for example)?

I am trying to forget the "Unforgettable Evening" on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9LD9kVX9lM

The sarangi is almost inaudible, and I should have left it that way.
But being too inquisitive by nature I cranked up the volume till I
could hear the lehra. I find that the grand sam at 3:41 is, well,
just a wee bit unofficial! Being even more inquisitive I went to
Amazon and learned that UTK and Pt Ramesh Mishra are merely actors!
Who has really played the tabla & sarangi, then?

Hopw the answers don't kill me.

They both look the same to me.

You didn't take a good enough look at the links you yourself posted, I
guess:

"Another growing facet of Ustad Tari Khan's creativity is his singing.
Building on the teaching of his two vocal gurus, his father and Ustad
Mehdi Hassan, Ustad Tari Khan's recent solo performances have included
more of his fresh, original approach to singing."

No idea whether he will actually sing in Leicester. Just wanted to
point out your question about side-businesses is already addressed in
that page.
