Hi,

I was wondering if someone could inform me what raag is the Marathi
song "Sajal Nayan Nita Dhaar Barasati" is in? I was particularly
wondering if it is in Bilaskhani or in Bhairavi. Also, if someone
could explain the nuances, I'd be most grateful. Any information on
the composer and singer(s) of the original version is most welcome.

The song is in Bilaskhani Todi. But given Bilaskhani's proximity
to Bhairavi, a few detours into the latter may exist. Consult
your nearest expert if you want to nitpick. It's (arguably) a boring
song by Ajit Kadkade which has several/all trappings desired
by Maharashtra's middle-class. Its composer Ashok Patki
has many good tunes (esp for Suman Kalyanpur) to his credit
but this is not one of them.
