Does anyone have any information about Shalmali Joshi? I heard about
10-15 minutes on WorldSpace of what the announcer said was a Bihagda
rendition by her; I liked what I heard. She sang a chiiz I have heard
the Gundecha Brothers sing ('kahaa.N se tum mad pii aaye ho' -
although she made it 'madh') and her rendition, though definitely a
khayal, seemed to have elements of the Dhrupad style.

A Net search only produced a mention on Wikipedia as one of the new
generation of Jaipur-Atrauli singers. I don't think I would have
guessed Jaipur based on the bit I heard of her singing.

Thanks to you (and to DG too) for the pointers about the spelling and
the link. I would like to hear more of her - must check if the CDs you
mention are still available.
