MESSAGE FROM LALITHA GJR KRISHNAN

Greetings to all classical music afficionados across North America.

I am delighted to be in the USA on my first concert tour - a tour that
since inception has me absolutely floored on account of the sheer,
overwhelming response ( 25 plus concerts) it has evoked from organizations
and rasikas alike.

I would like to convey my sincere thanks to all of you who have made this
possible and hope to have your continued support and encouragement, in
order to make this tour a success in every way.

Accompanying me on the violin is Sri. Vittal Ramamurthy, a senior disciple
of Padmasri. Lalgudi Jayaraman. His playing is marked by a rare
sensitivity and a flair for the aesthetics of the melodic concept - a
hallmark of the Lalgudi bani.

Sri. J. Vaidyanathan, son of Sri. DK Jayaraman is my mridangam
accompaniment.
Sri. Vaidyanathan's playing reveals his excellent control over the finer
aspects of rhythmic cross-currents and his remarkable ability to
effectively convey the intended gait of a composition without hindering
the flow of melody.

By the grace of God, the blessings of my guru Sri. Lalgudi Jayaraman and
with your warm enthusiasm and good wishes, I hope to give of my best to
make each concert an enjoyable and memorable one.

Seems like SIFA would have also sponsored a concert of Lalitha
Krishnan. I was told that she is very good.
