Hi,
Could anyone having the lyrics of the song, "Va Va Va Kanda Va Va Va ..."
post the same? I really like the song, but am unable to make it out
from the tape I have. Also, is the song in Varali??
Thanks,
Shankar
I don't have the lyrics, but yes, the song is in Varali.

This is the way I've learn't it:
Vaa Vaa Vaa, Kanda Va Va, ennai kaa vaa Velava
PazhaNimalai Uraiyum
(Muruga Vaa Vaa, etc.)
Devaadhi devan magane Vaa
Paradevi madiyil amarum Guhane Vaa
VaLLi Deivayaanai maNavaaLaa vaa
SaravaNabhava parama dhayaaLa Shanmuga
(Vaa Vaa Vaa, etc.)
AapathiruL ara, aruLoLi tharum,
Appane, ANNale, Aiyya Vaa
Paapa thiraL tharum, thaapam agala varum,
PazhaNi vaLar karuNai mazhaye Vaa
Thaapathraya ezhil ara nizhyal tharum vaa
Tharuve en kula Guruve Vaa
Sri Padmanaabhan maruga
Ramadaasan vaNangum Muththaiyya viraivodu
(Vaa Vaa Vaa, etc.)
The song is in Varali, Adhi Talam by Papanasam Sivan. My favorite
rendering is by D.K.J. - he has sung it on tape. I really like the
swara sahityam in 'Thaapam agala'.
Hope this helps,
Chitra
