[*snip*] Excellent tabulation of various Carnatic compositions in kAnaDA

I have learnt one more of GNB's compositions in this rAgA. Here's how
it goes. It's a really poignant song.

rAga: kAnaDA
tALa: Adi

pallavi
-------
parAmukham-Ela-namma? parAdhIna-patita! nA pai
(parAmukhamEla)
anupallavi
----------
nirAdaravu nIve jesite, nirvahimpa-taramA? talli
(parAmukhamEla)

charanam
--------
marALa-jita mandagamani! mahAdEvamatir-Ayatavadani!
nirAmayE! nIrada-s'yAmalE! nityakalyANaguNAlayE!
(parAmukhamEla)

Regards,
Ravindra.

P.S. There was an article about Dikshitar's "vIra hanumatE" not being
in kAnaDA. I have learnt only the kAnaDA version. It's set to
rUpakam.

Sri T. Viswanathan at Wesleyan has taught my son a purandara dAsa
composition in kAnaDa, "nAninnE dhyAna"; this song is set in a very sedate
style with abundant leisurely use of the lower octave invoking a very
peaceful mood. It is a true pleasure to hear Sri Viswa sing this.

Another composition in kAnaDa that I really like is akilANDEs'vari jaya
jaya sankari by laLitAdAsar.
