Brief bios of the artistes:

Sanjay Subrahmanyan is a very popular young Carnatic music vocalist
today. He was trained initially on the violin by V. Lakshminarayana
(father of the illustrious violinists, L. Shankar and L. Subramaniam).
He is currently being tutored by Calcutta K.S. Krishnamurthy. His music,
which is influenced greatly by the Late G.N. Balasubramaniam, is full
of verve and energy. After hearing him sing a few years back, the
renowned critic, Subbudu, was moved to writing: "After hearing Sanjay
Subrahmanyan sing, I am convinced Carnatic music is in safe hands"...
R.K. Shriramkumar belongs to the Rudrapatnam family of musicians;
a family with a glorious musical tradition. He is the grandson
of the renowned violinist Sangeetha Kalaratna R.K. Venkatarama
Shastry. After initial training on the violin from Smt Savitri
Satyamurthy, Shriramkumar advanced his training from his grandfather.
He is presently under the tutelage of Shri V.V. Subramanyam.
Shriramkumar has also had formal training in vocal music from
the Late Sangeetha Kalanidhi Shri D.K. Jayaraman.
Left--handed Arun Prakash is the son of Shri L. Krishnan, the
famous music composer (and disciple of Shri G.N. Balasubramaniam).
Arun Prakash commenced his training at the age of nine, from
Ramanathapuram M.N. Kandaswamy (disciple of Palani M. Subramaniya
Pillai) and started performing in full--length concerts
from the age of eleven.
