Dear Friends,

I'm looking for Sri Mansur's kannada autobiography 'Rasayaatre' since
quite some time. If any of you have a copy and is willing to share, I
would be very thankful. I will pay for the postage charges.

Thanks,
Prashanth

The English translation (by Rajshekhar Mansur) can be ordered from
underscore. I had assumed the Kannada version would be available in
Bangalore bookshops (where are you based?), but I haven't checked.

Dear Chetan,

The Kannada version is out of print. I have the English version.

BTW, for people who know Kannada, there is another beautiful book on
Mansur called "Naada Nadi" - the Kannada version is a translation by
Smt Shubada A Ameenabhavi; the original is in Marathi by Smt Vidya
Sapre.

Another question - the "Naada Nadi" book says that three documentaries
were made on Mansur, I know of only one - the one on
filmsdivision.com. Does anyone know of the other two.

There is one called (surprise!) Rasayatra, directed by Nandan
Kudhyadi.

It seems copies are extremely hard to come by.

Did you have this book?! Wonder if it is the same one I remember
glancing through a few years ago but got the distinct impression that
the author was mentally unstable.

The best Kannada pub on Mansur still remains a commemorative volume
named Sangeeta Ratna brought out by Karnataka University in Dharwad on
his 60th birthday. See if you can get it somewhere.

The third documentary is probably by Doordarshan with commentary by
Shubha Mudgal

:)

I do have this book, and I liked it. The language used is of North
Karnataka Kannada flavor (which makes it a little difficult for me);
in addition, the book has a strong spiritual lining through out, that
may be one reason why you may have thought so.

Thanks,
Prashanth
