From "One More Chance"...

"You know the ep along by James Todd Smith"

What does this mean?

I thought it said "you know the epilogue by James Caan" and was some sort of
Godfather reference...

it's not 'along', is it? ll was the first i noticed using the
term 'episode' (for sexual encounter) or 'ep' for short.
it's most likely a direct reference to Back Seat, see the
previous line:
I got the pack of Rough Riders in the back of the Pathfinder

Reference to "Back Seat of my Jeep" and the line in the hook, "Let's
swing an episode."

13 or so years later

I think it is "epilogue" and also "James Todd Smith". I originally also thought it was James Caan

I think epilogue refers to the hook, as someone above said, because the hook is also the outro. Cool J says "episode". So, I think 'epilogue' and 'episode' is also wordplay because of the prefix
