Anytime Records Anytime Records, under the helm of its husband & wife
team (CEO Bobby Evans and President Monique Evans) is primed and
positioned to be one of the most successful independent labels within
the music and entertainment industries. Based in Carson, California,
the company was launched in early 2006. Although there are numerous
"indies" in an already oversaturated marketplace, what differentiates
Anytime Records from the rest of the pack is that it is a family-owned
and operated label utilizing the expertise of some very seasoned
executives to help drive its operations and produce, develop and
deliver top-quality entertainment. The Evans, who have been married
for 10 years, are entrepreneurs at heart. With a staff of two-dozen
employees, they have successfully run a Los Angeles-based car wash
over the last six years. They also boast a successful dump-trucking
business, with an added 20 staffers. It is their objective to take
those prosperous business models and transfer those skill sets to the
music industry. "I've been surrounded by so much great talent," says
Bobby, "and starting a record company is something that both Monique
and I have had a passion for. We've been told of the numerous pitfalls
as to why we shouldn't get in the music business, but those are
obstacles we are willing to face head-on. As with our other
businesses, you have to make smart decisions, make realistic sales
projections, ensure we're properly staff, and offer the consumer top
quality product. It's all about creating a well-thought out plan and
executing it." Anytime Records is home to a growing talented roster
that consists of rappers Madi B and Se7vn. Madi B was signed to the
label upon being a front-runner out of nearly 100 undiscovered artists
through a series of auditions that Anytime Records held. He is
currently in the studio wrapping up recording and is expected to drop
his project in the summer of '06. Se7vn is also gearing up for the
release of his debut, slated for a possible fourth quarter '06 or
early 2007. Initially, Anytime Records plans to establish itself in
the marketplace by promoting its hip-hop acts. They eventually plan to
delve into the R&B, Pop, and Rock genres. Bobby insists that a back-to-
basics approach be taken when marketing and promoting the company's
acts, which means that hitting the streets and touching the people are
vital. "We plan on hiring and building those all-important street
teams to reach our core fans," Bobby states. "We're also going to do
some high school and college tours. Radio will eventually be an
important part of the plan, but we want to build our credibility with
the streets first before anything." As a rapidly-growing independent
label, Bobby & Monique have pretty much found themselves involved in
every aspect of the company from recording and production, to artist
development, and overseeing marketing and promotions. With the
addition of several seasoned staffers, they are well on their way to
becoming a competitive force to be reckoned with. Their team consists
of A&R executive Louis S. Austin, Publicity & PR veteran Lynn Jeter,
in-house producer Big T from Six Point Productions, marketing and
promotion veteran Eric Talbert, and former MCA Record Black Music
President Ernie Singleton, who will assist in providing the company
with its overall infrastructure and guidance. "We are very excited
about the team that we are building," says Monique. "Collectively we
have nearly100 years of music industry experience on deck. Our team
has the ability to directly reach the streets, the many gatekeepers in
the music industry such as radio programmers and music retailers, and
the brand managers of corporate America. The possibilities for success
are immeasurable." With their innate drive and passion, Bobby and
Monique are optimistic and ecstatic regarding their new venture in to
the entertainment business. Their focus and goals may be a tall order
yet they are very determined, exclaims Bobby. "First is to rejuvenate
the musical presence of the West Coast with our artists. It can't all
be just about the South right now. And second is to be one of the
biggest independent-driven labels in the world!" The world is
