This also means that a lot of the albums will be removed (to make room
for new stuff), so if there's stuff you wanted, but never got the time
to get round to getting it.... HURRY UP.

Whuttup,
You can erase the contents of my folder on the FTP, I got lots of new stuff.
Matter fact, make it easy on ya self and erase it once a month. You can
also erase my October Top 20 folder as well. So, if you didn't peep my
screw mixes ya best to checkum out!
Sorry, I didn't get this message til this morning, I upped a few classic
Dirty South lp's to the FULL ALBUMS FOR PREVIEW folder this weekend.
Now servin' The following hard to find full lp's on A to the L's FTP
courtesy of RMHH's own hometown hero- OVERTiME the Beyonder of Hip-Hop:
--SouthCircle-Anotha Day Anotha Balla
Classic material from the now defunct Suave House. Mr. Mike and
Thorough's first lp. Don't Sleep! They have the killa flow...
--Born2Wice-Portrait of A $erial Player
This is one of my all-time favorite albums from underground Houston
artist Born2wice. All those who still don't overstand 'playaism' need to
peep this lp and soak game...the album features a host of cameos by
artists from all over. Including Ice T, King T, Tim Dog, and <gasp!> even
Kool Keith!!!
Game recognize game!
--DJ DMD & The Inner Soul Clique-Twenty TWo: PA World Wide
Legendary Dj/producer DMD's second album which contains the Texas
classic '25 lighters' the last track recorded by the late great Fat Pat.
--Red Bean Records presents...BOUNCE BABY! New Orleans
This is a compilation mix tape by Dj Dope of New Orleans indie label,
Red Bean Records. For all those who've neva heard REAL bounce music, you
need to check the stylo on this lp. It contains mixes with almost +all+
the classics of bounce music.
--Blac Monks-No Mercy
This is also one of my favorite lp's of all-time, the very underrated
second release from Rap-A-lot's abtract concept group, The Black Monks.
The Blac Monk's first lp is a REAL underground classic down here in Texas,
and they have a following similar to that which made Wu Tang popular,
abstract concepts combined with Karate movie aethestic. Everything about
this lp impresses me from how they they created the group with 5 solo mc's
(sort of the same way they did the Geto Boyz) who all take on new aliases
for the group project, to their concept/context of the Black Monks, a
mystical group of heroes who battle other mc's. Each mc represents one of
the different elements- Fire (3-2), Wind (AWOL), Storm (who I believe is
Sha-Riza from FaceMob), Rain (DA, aka DMG), and Grim Reaper (Raheem) to
the production, ideas, and ideology expounded on the lp, even down to the
album cover with the Fat Black Buddha, which went over most folks heads.
The group is very balanced and even has a female mc, Storm, with hella
flow...13 tracks deep straight no chaser.
That is all....you are now returned to you regularly scheduled ng.

What was DMD's first album? I bought this one after I heard '25
Lighters' on BET when it came out, and I'd like to get the other too.

His first lp was called, 'Eleven', and it's betta than the second one
IMHO, if you can believe that. I would up it to the FTP but I gave my copy
to one of my potnaz from PA becuz he was mentioned in the lp credits. I
asked him once what was the meaning behind the numbers in the album
titles, he said its just something he wanted to do.
He said that all his albums will have numbers in the title, so album
number three will be 'Thirty Three'. number 4 will be 'Forty-Fout' etc.
I'll drop by the used cd shop and see if I can pick up a copy.

I can. Some people bust their best nut first, and whatever comes
afterwards no matter how good it is can't beat the very first one.

That's alright though playa, because now that I know the name I can
go on the hunt for a copy of it on or offline. I'd check CDNow.com
right now but for some reason Qwest DSL is banned. No shit, I can't
log in the site anymore on my laptop - it says, "Sorry you are banned."
Shit works just fine on my fiancee's AOL though. :P

Cool. E'rybody's got their thang, and DMD has his too. :)

Damn maan,
after I posted this I went to the record shop to look around for it and
low and behold I found out that his new lp, 'Thirty Three: Live from
Hiroshima' dropped last week, +and+ it was on sale for $9.99 so I coped
it!!
On a bad note, I checked the catalog and it said that 'Eleven' is out of print.
:-( I searched three stores and couldnt find it new or used, which is also
a bad sign, but next time I'm in H-Town I'll either pick it up or go by my
potnaz' crib and get the old one from him. I'll just trade him something
else for it...I'm sure he still has it, probably still in his cd changer
in the ride.
ATX is a lil behind H-Town on the new releases, so I'm out of the loop a
lil as far as brand new stuff, which also explains why I've been making my
hip-hop tastes a lil more ecclectic these days. I listen to a lot more
abstract stuff now than I used to or at least give it a try...
I also saw a TON of new screw releases that I havent heard yet, I'll try
to keep yall posted.
If you want you can contact Southwest Wholesale at (800) 275-4799 and see
if they'll ship it to you, or call Inner Soul Records at (800) 275-4799.
Maybe if you tell him you want to review it for your site he'll send you
some promo wax or somethin, he is a dj after all and probably would
understand.
Stay UP!
OT
Well if I didn't already have an excuse to go to Wherehouse tonight (to
find a copy of The Coup) I +definitely+ do now. I'm coppin that too!

Cool. If it is that long out of print and that hard to find, I really
wouldn't mind if you would upload it. You know I'd pay for a copy if
I could find it but you're making it sound like mission impossible.

The irony is that I'm actually getting into more Southern stuff now
than I ever did before, probably because I've had all I can take of
everybody backpacker rapper ranting about how much commercial rap sucks.
In the last three weeks I've bought Lil' Troy, Three 6 Mafia, and Petey
Pablo in succession - now I'm about to add the new DMD to that list.
Incidentally Three 6 is my featured "RapReview" for tomorrow's update.

Thanks OverTiME - my newsreader keeps logs of my replies so I'll use this
as a reference if I try to reach them. I don't suppose they have any
website too by any chance?
Peace, Flash
PS: I tried to get South Park Mexican's label to send me product to
review, but they never even responded to my inquiries. :P
While SPM's name is brought up and OT's here, can you put me up on the
truthfullness of the rumor i heard like a week or two about him getting hemmed
up...
That's news to me - I hadn't heard it, but maybe OT knows something.
The last guy I heard get hemmed up in a major way was that retired
Dallas Cowboy who had a ton of weed in his van.

Hadn't heard anything about this. He did do a show here a couple of weeks
ago though.
