I've just split up with my girlfriend (of six years) and I'm turning to
thug rap for comfort.

Tragic and wrong.

Kool G is my friend, he looks after me.

You have my sympathies.

On your musical note, might I recommend the following:
Xplosive - Dr Dre
One Less - N.W.A.

coincidentally I have been listening to 4, 5, 6 all morning...

commiserations / congrats etc etc (delete as applicable)

here's some similarly sad news - I got a cheap EPMD - Out Of Business
(the one with the extra cd of greatest hits) on ebay, and they've
re-recorded all the old tracks, changing words and pronunciation
etc... and its bollocks...

Sorry man, or you can look at it as if you've finished your Olympic cycle
(okay, yours was a bit longer than mine of 4 years), and now you're ready
for the new start.
I've met at least 15 people in the last 2 weeks who did the same, not only
my best friend, but many more, males too.

Suggestions: Superman, Kim (always actual, especially if her name was Kim),
and yeah, Xxplosive is great.6 months ago, when I split with my ex, I was
listening to an awful lot of Em and Dre. NWA rulez.
LOL
Go out, have fun and get drunk!

Once you're over buffalo-stance-ice-grillin phase, I suggest you play
Pharcyde - Otha fish, the remix version (dunno what remix). Mad nice.
Works great for me when things aren't going smooth with my girl...

He's said he lost appetite for rap for a year or two at the time
of writing "4,5,6". In this context the lyrics on there tell all
about why Kool G Rap is in the top 3 of all time without question.
His shit was amazing even when he was tired.

You're not relieved in any way? You know, the writing must've been
on the wall for a long time already. Six years with the same girl
especially in a time period when she (or both y'all) possibly can't
be that mature yet, now THAT is tragic and wrong. Uplifted? :)

That's a really bizarre claim.

I hope you've given time for uncle Rick's "Teenage Love" though?
After that you'll slide into "A Love That's True", then steady
settle in a "Sittin In My Car" mode. Get into a little bit of
"What We Do (For Love)". After that you get lost deep into "Venus",
explore the V to your heart's content, marry the Venus -- and
soon you'll be switching into "Women Lose Weight" guaranteed.

give it 3 months....by then you should be ready to be
relieved...another month and you'll be able to find some girls to
relieve you

that's how it went for me anyway but the relationship was less than 4
years so that could mess with the numbers....you may have to suffer
for 50% longer so 4 and a half months plus another one and a half is 6
months until you will be relieved...or maybe it works the other way
and it'll only be 2 months and another 20 days...or maybe there are
other variables that render this whole post useless...that would be
bad because it's quite a long post now
