Hip-Hop is at the lowest it has ever been. What happened to all the
great rap groups and solo artists? Tupac's death was like a symbolic end
to the rap era. TCQ, K-Solo, Scarface, Spice 1, Too Short, Gang Starr,
Cypress Hill, Eric Sermon, Redman, Stetsasonic, Public Enemy are just part
of a long list of niggas who should be on milk cartons because they've
been missing for so long. When you got sorryass muthafuckas like Bone
Thugs & Harmony dominating the rap charts, that tells me right there that
hip-hop is dead. Hope Biggie's new shit can bring rap music back from the
grave. "Life after Death" might be the appropiate title for Biggie's new
release if it achieves that miracle.

While you could find people that agree with you, I think that
your landmarks are incorrrect. As somebody put very well a long time ago,
Tupac was dead as an artist two albums ago. His death, while tragic,
only means that we'll have one less commercial sucess and 15 more tribute
songs. Big won't change hip-hop, if anything, his remixes after "Ready to
Die" sent hip-hop down the path it is now. The savior is somebody we've
probably never heard of. Somebody who will sneak on an album and blow
everybody's mind. Big's been an MTV darling, that doesn't go away. He
comes from a camp mired in wackness. Nobody from Bad Boy will save
hip-hop. Hip-hop's messiah will be a nobody, then we'll all here that one
line and our jaws will drop.

Say what? They've been missing?

TCQ - Beats, Rhymes, Life (new)

K-Solo - Appears On Redman's joint

Scarface - Heard lots of things.. from him being dead to having a new
album.. What's the deal?

Spice 1 - Not sure about an album, but he's doing guest appearances
and soundtrack trax

Too $hort - Well, he released his last (yeah right) album recently.

Gang Starr - Okay, I'll admit it. They've gotta do something soon!!

Cypress Hill - You've GOTTA be joking.

Eric Sermon - See Spice 1

Redman - JUST released new album Muddy Waters (great album BTW)

Stetsasonic - Okay, that's 2

P.E. - Heard they have a new one coming out as well

So out of 11, 2 haven't done anything for a while. (3 if you include
Too $hort, who says he's done) (5 if you include P.E. and Scarface)

Rap is not dead, but it is killing off it's own.

Stop the violence.
