I'm working for an Engineering company based about 25 miles outside Tally.
I've only been with them for coming on 3 weeks. Its complete shite. I
thought when I left the UK that I wouldn't have to deal with Engineering
again... I really can't stand it, and it was the friends I had in my job
over there that helped me get thru each day. This place is mad different
though. Everyone is a maths nerd and nobody speaks between 8am and 5pm.
Unfortunately there's not many other openings around, so I'llprob be stuck
here for a bit until I work out an escape plan!
What's up with you cats not checking alt.rap or rmhh any more? Too mature
for that now? ;)

Shame we had so many bad refs in the cup - we had both brazil and italy

I don't normally say that cos I think its being a whingeing cunt but its

All is good out here. Im busy as hell studying. All the time. Its almost all
im doing. Im trying to get my ACII qualification which is pretty much the
Lloyd's standard. They strongly suggest doing a maximum of 2 subjects every
6 months, but im doing 4, and it is killing me. each week I have to learn 2
chapters of text and do an assignment for each for two of the subjects, and
then when ive finished them in mid/late-august I need to do 2 more subjects
within 5 weeks. It aint easy! But it means that it will be easier for me to
qualify for the UK Highly Skilled Migrant Program, meaning I can get over
there next year without restrictions for 2 years, then extend it a further
2, then get residency, then go for the dual passport. Its pretty much the
only way leo and I can be together, cos I need to work, and she wants to go
to university. Its too expensive here, so the uk is the only compromise we
can choose. Getting a work permit sponsored by a uk employer is too
difficult. All the recruitment agencies over there that ive spoken to have
advised me to forget about it cos no company wants to go to that hassle to
hire me when theres suitably qualified people there, and that in itself
makes me ineligible for the work permit.
Anyhoo - that's the summary of whats goin on. leo and I got engaged earlier
this month while we were on the gold coast. Our 3.5 year anniversary,
sunrise at Burleigh heads. Was really nice. (well done locco). So we're
offishully on the way to bigger and better things!
Hows the missus? You guys still goin well? Youre based in the usa now aren't
you? Hows that place treatin you?
