Found this article on the Music Industry News Network website which
compiled a list of quotes from music artists denouncing Napster. An
example:

“Artists, like anyone else, should be paid for their work.” -- Lou Reed

Beastie Boys and a lot of others also contribute anti-Napster
comments. However, when I scrolled down and saw Puff Daddy's comments
on Napster, I thought at first that they were mocking him. Hard to
believe this is real, but check it out:

“I couldn’t believe it when I found out that this Napster was linking
thousands of people to the new Notorious BIG album “Born Again,” a week
before it even hit the streets. This album is a labor of love from
Notorious BIG’s friends to the man, his kids, the rest of his family
and everyone else whose lives will never be the same since BIG passed.
BIG and every other artist Napster abuses deserve respect for what they
give us.” -- Sean “Puffy” Combs, CEO, Bad Boy Entertainment, Inc.

Geez... is he going to dedicate his tombstone to Biggie too? This has
gone too far, he's found a way to turn the whole Napster issue into
another chance to do a "Remember B.I.G." sermon. Oh well, at least
he's got another fat Brooklyn rapper to show off (the one whose verse
on the "Whoa" remix starts out "Keep the stainless on my hip like
WHOA!").

Puff's just whining because he was really counting on huge sales for that
album to restore Bad Boy to prominence and profitability, and it didn't
happen.

Surely if it is an album for the respect of Biggie, then money is not an
issue!
If all the artists who contributed to the album really liked Biggie, then
they would not be in it for the money, and they would just want people to
hear the tracks!!!!!!

Peace

Great point right there.

Puffy doesn't really care about making a tribute album for Biggie. All he wants
is cash, cash, cash. I mean, everything he's done as a musical artist has
proven that.
