It's a white label, "rubber tree plant/please listen to my demo"
The other side is kinda nice too, except his storytellin needs
some improvement. He talks about falling off...
The beat on the flip is much nicer I think...
That is correct. I honestly think that this track is hot! The first time I
heard it I cracked up.
Some people say that it is just trying to be "hard knock life", but infact
this is what "hard knock life" wanted to be!
Dope track, but what will the rest of the album be like?
Oh, and as curious said, it is called "rubber tree plant/please listen to my
demo", well according to tim westwood (bbc radio 1) it is!
Peace

don't diss frank. he's an ill singer.
tim
i didnt diss frank. i dissed anyone with zero crate digging skills who would
sample him. whos next? barbra steisand?
Sampling Sinatra's better than sampling any musical with singing
children.

I've gotta say. That's a rad song. My dad used to sing the original to
me when I was a kid.

that's exactly what i was thinking, that song is cheesy. i'm surprised people
like it in here.
Never question good cheese. Cheesy can be could as long as it's done in
a manner that makes it totally campy. This song is fun in the same way
watching cops is fun- it's just seeing the train wreck happening.
I haven't heard this song yet, but in the original, it was about overcoming
impossible obstacles because of perserverance. It's about an ant that is
determined to move this plant, and no one tells the ant that it's
impossible, and the last line is reflected in the title of the thread.
It's kind of corny, in that comedy style of pop standards. There's a song
like that by Ella Fitzgerald where she talks about how she's unlucky in
marriage, because she hates all her husbands, but she's never been divorced,
cause she killed them all. I'm serious. It sounds kind of scary, cause
Ella's got that happyhappy voice, and she's talking about chopping her
husband up with an axe and shit like that... sounding happy as a fukin clam.
Definite wierd choice of samples! I want to hear it now.

i haven't heard the track yet + so i can't really say too much about
it. still, i believe that it's not who you sample and how deep you dig
but how you flip it. i'm not even saying that people should sample
from breakbeat records, because that's not really creative.
nevertheless it doesn't always have to be the most obscure record.
peace.

yup, but I think a good enough producer could even flip 'funky drummer"
still

Ive heard it on the radio a couple times and even witnessed some kid bumping it
