they all suck - Jada less than the other two...
none of them can make a good solo album...
they can't make a good group album...
they fucking suck anal wart juice...

Sure, they talk about the same shit almost every song... Coke, guns,
murderdeathkill, etc. with a dab of flossin... But to me they are very good
lyrically... The LOX are one of the few groups/rappers that I can play ANYTIME,
ANYPLACE and I'll just be feelin the song 100%... Especially their stuff from
the Ruff Ryder/Swizz Beats era...
WHEN DANGER STRIKES!!!
You either Love 'em, rate some of their songs or hate them. I'm in the
middle.
In terms of the whole of D Block (that The Lox have become) I think Jada has
one of the best voices in the game, but some of his tracks are painful.
---Pimp---
Explain.
I think you contradicted yourself here, family.
Why is this a contradiction?
You *can* be good lyrically yet still have limited subject matter.

Outside of the ones that went solo, I never paid attention to the
individual members......are the Lox and D-Block basically the same
group of people? If so......
Lox ----- OK sometimes bordering on unimpressive
D-Block ---- a little better
.
....btw, I nominate Jadakiss f/ Anthony Hamilton "Why" as today's
song of the day.

I like Jada, never paid that much attention to the rest. And why aren't you
making comments before you hear other people's opinions?
I like the Lox song where they talk about guns. That's a good one.
I like listening to jada on a couple of tracks "We Gon Make It" "Knock
Yourself Out"(cause I like the beat, even though a lot of people find
it crazy annoying), but mostly his solo stuff was pretty crap. I got
rid of the album after like a week. He's a good guest appearance
though.
Exactly... And that's really my ONLY complaint about the LOX... I mean I like
"murdadeathkill" rap but the best rappers are the ones that dont just talk
about the same stuff over and over and over again...
WHEN DANGER STRIKES!!!
Styles vocally is one of the most boring rappers. Sheek
has always been my favorite of the three. But considering
Jada's guest appearances in the last couple of years
(Gang Starr, Nas, etc.) and his new shit with the matured
voice/flow I actually see him emerging as one of the top
NY MC's further down the road. It all depends on his next
album.
I trip when I remind myself how they complained Puffy
had jiggified them, and then they went on to guest on a
gang of poppy R&B songs, from Mya to J. Lo.

also with the "group that can sell as solo emcees" idea. except they don't
sell.

"I eat dictionaries and spit out little pieces of paper. that's why my
vocabulary's sick."
oooookay. Jada's the only one that can really handle a solo track, and I'm
not even sure he can do it. we know he rips the guest shit though.

nah, that's a matter of choice. for Puffy to say "you gotta rap about ice"
when they just wanna rap about snatchin chains, that's no good. but for them
to say, of their own volition, "okay, let's get money and build with J. Lo,"
you can't really hate.
D Block is basically Lox + Jae Hood as far as I could tell, and he sucks.

...P.I. till I die and I just laugh at you cats...
I'd rather listen to that than these cats steady goin the "love" route.
Happens to every genre, but didn't think it'd happen to hip hop as hard as it
has.
Oh yeah, Lox are dope. Sheek is aight on some songs, but I'd rather have jada
and styles on most of my beats.. they're great at goin back and forth on
rhymes. Their voices fit their subject matter perfectly. I just think of most
rap these days as actors tryin to play a part, they make their shit sound more
believable than the other cats out their talkin the same shit.

Remember that enormous thread that went on and on when Goldenchild
started ranting about how dope Jada was, and then I interjected with
something about Ras Kass, and then shit got out of control?
Those were fun times...not doing homework and arguing over shit on the
internet.

overall, i'm not a fan... "money, power, respect" may be one of my least
favorite tracks ever.
however, there are tracks by or guesting them that i definitely love.
every so often i'll get the urge to play "i get high" or "if you think
i'm jiggy" over and over. and jada does have a really dope voice and flow.
it's too bad what they actually say is always the same for the most
part, although i'm skeptical of their ability to pull of other stuff.
but that's probably because i've never heard them try.
but all of this is from random tracks i've heard. i've never actually
bothered to listen to a whole album by the lox or one of the members.
check out the the styles album. overall the album has good beats.
peace!
