Three 6 Mafia - Now does anyone have the vinyl of this (I'm the only
person on rmhh who buys LPs now right?) cos I want to know if its got a
cover and shit like that. Otherwise which of the CD versions is the best?

Purple Ribbon Got Purp 2 - Although I can't see anyhting touching My
Chrome.

Killer Mike mixtape - looking online it has a DJ Speedy beat on
apparently.

AZ - What happened to all the props this was getting? A month later and
no one is mentioning it for roundups. A gwan?

Quasimoto - Cos I know what it'll be like and it'll be like my 10th
favourite ablum of the year but I need something to be at 10 right?

Count Bass D - Cos i never picked up Dwight Spitz and I allways
regretted it.

whurred.

C&S duh. you're not the only one buying vinyl, you're the only one
trying to exclusively buy vinyl however.

This whole shit is fiyah. The Goodie MOb joint, 808, and another
joint are on the level with my chrome

Barely missed my top ten IIRC. This would have been near the top of
the heap a few years ago, but im not feeling the NYC semi-rugged
semi-smooth thug rap as much right now.

That AZ is still good, still getting props and play over here. 'Never
Change' is one of the tracks of the year, imo.

Did anyone happen to get that Streetlife 'Street Education' that
dropped this summer? Apparently U-God released an album in September
too, which I was oblivious to until Amazon recommended it to me.

Easy. I'm not "trying to exclusively buy it" any more than you're trying
to exclusively buy CDs. I don't like Cds, I like vinyl so obviously I'm
going to want to but vinyl. I don't play CDs I just put them on my
computer and then I might as well chuck them so I'd rather have vinyl.
It seems that no one else on here is still buying LPs although a lot of
people still buy 12"s.

Okay. I'm gonna get it.

Yeah, I dunno if I'll listen to it. Maybe its not worth buying...

I buy whats available. If they're both there I'll evaluate where im
more likley to listen to it, the price and how nice the vinyl packaging
is. If there's no vinyl, I just buy the cd. You seem to wait, try to
find the LP and then buy the cd if you cant find vinyl.

Its not as good as Put It On the Line or testament, but after that Id
say its probably the third best record in that vein this year. To
give some perspective Id say its better than any nas record since IWW
(ie - better than stillmatic)

I've never checked for U-God, but I thought there'd be at least some
mention of it on RMHH/other spots on the net.

For me, just a few:

"Moment Of Rarities": 7L & Esoteric
"I Do What I Do": Kev Brown
"The Best Of The A-Team": The A-Team
"S.P.I.T.": Supernatural

The Streetlife album is very boring. The production is awful at best. Not
worth picking up unless you get it really cheap or free. The U-God album
has no other Wu involvement on either vocals or production and so I totally
skipped getting it.

there are some skippable tracks, but the ones that are good are
excellent (that one being the best, probably).

oh, and it seems like raj still buys a lot of vinyl.

hahahaha.

I should clarify right...

I like music. Quite a bit. CDs are a perfectly serviceable way of
administering musis. So the music works on CDs.
Just this week I bought Devin's last album and the Big Gipp album
(underrated) on CD for instance.

The best way to think about it is that vinyl adds value to the music for
me. Albums add big cover art and liner notes (CD liner notes duck sick)
it is also something worth photographing, worth putting on a shelf etc.

Seven inches are just a great invention (nh). One side, one song. Want
another song? flip it over (nh). Genius.

I'm not really a zionist I just love music and love the added aesthetic
pleasure that records offer. CDs still have all the music on, and some
of those digipacks are going in the right direction.

peace, bse (Wants to be in everyones will, we should make a pact to
include RMHH heads in our wills. Like anyone want any of my rare shit
when I die? Otherwise it'll only go to someone undeserving)

It's called a "single" or a "45". A "seven inch" is a generic term
for any record with that diameter. It can spin at 33 and it can have
20+ songs on it, which one would gather impossible based on your
description.

I call them 45's, which can also be technically incorrect in that 12"
singles often play at 45 rpm's. That said, I NEVER heard anyone refer
to a twelver that plays at 45 as a "45". A "seven inch" is a generic
term.

huh?

are you sure you're not talking about 10" punk records?

DRI - Dirty Rotten EP, 7 Inches, 22 Songs, 33 RPM 1982. Admittedly 4-8
songs is much more common on a 7". 10 inches usually have 6-8 as a
minumum (nh)
