What is the best album he did musically? Not looking at lyrics, just
the music.

Another of my staunch defying the norm calls - I'd pick IRON MAN over
LIQUID SWORDS myself. I also enjoy 6 FEET DEEP more, but he only gets
half the credit for that.

I'd rate 'em like this...Top 3..

1. LIQUID SWORDS-IMO the dopest album of the 90's. RZA came with his
most abstract & creative production to date.

2. ONLY BUILT 4 A CUBAN LINX

3. IRONMAN

I would say Ironman, then Liquid Swords...
That Ironman album was just, dare I say Supreme?

1) Liquid Swords - It's like one long piece of music, not 13 individual songs.
Mind blowing
2) Tical - No-one's mentioned this, but the beats are incredible. Very
almospheric and dark
3) Cuban Linx - Another whole album, like Liquid Swords. I start to finish
expreience. Guillotine especially is genius

i'd say cuban linx is #1, classic, groundbreaking, and varied. then
gza, esp. 4th chamber. as far as more recent stuff, i loved all of
ghost dog, that 97 gravediggaz picksickleshovel album was realy slept
on (wu-elements all over it, it was a more satisfying rza solo - check
12 jewelz- than b. digital) and, well even off bobby digital, how about
those beats on holocaust (silkworm) and domestic violence?

Nah, Iron Man ain't defying the norm.....everyone has a different
opinion....and yeah, I forgot Tical....that was fucking dope ...here would
be my top 5 RZA produced albums...

1. Liquid Swords
2. Ironman (tied with Cuban Linx, both were excellent...)
2. Cuban Linx
4. Tical
5. Wu-Tang Forever (yes...that's right...Wu Forever is dope....)

I meant that I always seem to go against the popular grain (not on
purpose either.) The popular cote for best Wu solo lp has to be either
"Liquid Swords" or "Cuban Linx" - I prefer Iron Man over those two.

But now - WU TANG FOREVER??? TICAL??? Talk about different tastes.
Both those LPs made me almost give up on the Wu.

Top 5:
Iron Man

Liquid Swords

Return to the 36 Chambers (why does this one get left out so much -
'Deadly Snakes,' 'Brooklyn Zoo,' 'Raw Hide' and the BRILLIANT 'Brooklyn
Zoo II (perhaps the best thing RZA's ever done - experiemental madness.)

36 Chambers - Now this is a classic

say word. Best wu lp other than 36 chambers. Speaking on wu im starting to
feel the w more. Its not amazing, but its better than forever IMO. And
Ghost's verse on gravel pit is probably the 2nd best on the album after nas on
let my niggas live, his flow is just ridiculous. It almsot makes up for the
wackness he drops on Cant go to sleep, that last joint, and hollow bones with
that crying shit.

THE SONG IS CALLED HOLLOW BONES...HE'S SUPPOSED TO SOUND SAD. Damn, people
don't have to sound hard every time they get behind a mic. If it fits the
theme of the song, it's dope.

So do I.

Amazing album- that everybody, even the Wu-kids, sleep on.

I overstand the theme of the song, but the fucking crying is WACK. And i dont
think ghost really sounds hard that much, in actuality his best verses on the W
are when he sounds fun and sing-songy...

I don't think the crying would have been wack on ONE cut off the album. But
they have like 3-4 songs like this on the W, and the repetitiveness takes
away from the desired effect...

RZA doesn't do any wrong musically....I'd group them as:

Top Tier: GZA/Genius-Liquid Swords, Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx,
Ghostdog: Official Soundtrack, Wu-Tang: Enta tha 36 Chambers.

2nd Tier: Bobby Digital, Ghostface Killah: Supreme Clientele, Ghostface Killah:
IronMan, Wu-Tang: The W, Ol' Dirty Bastard: Return to the....

3rd Tier: Wu-Tang Forever, Method Man: Tical
