not sure about buffalo skulls, but I've seen dead T's w/ cow skulls that
remind me of Georgia O'Keefe's skull paintings, esp. since they also have a
Zia sun (New Mexico giveaway). Don't recall if she did any buffalo skulls,
but books w/ prints of her work should be in most libraries.

there's a smallish picture of the poster in the book "The Art of Rock". it
was from 1979 promoting a concert in Bufallo, N.Y.
