" A naked college student was rescued from a Colorado mountain after she took magic mushrooms and majorly freaked out.

Taylor Powers, 21, stripped and started fighting with her two hiking buddies after ingesting the powerful drug while walking in Chautauqua Park on Sunday."

When did Chautauqua Park become a mountain? Has there been some volcanic uplift I haven't heard about? Or was the person who wrote this article on a bit of a contact high? Kid these days. Back in my day when we tripped naked we went to the real mountains to do it, or at least to a concert.

Well, she was up on the third flatiron. Maybe not a mountain, but definitely a hike up some elevation and it would appear to be that to most flatlanders. It took an hour to get her to shelter.

Sounds like some crazy shrooms.

The flatirons are more than big and steep enough to kill you. I
remember being terrified up on the third when I was 16 or so.

I didn't read between the lines well enough, I guess they went hiking *after* they ate shrooms at Chautauqua Park. When I read Chautauqua Park my memory automatically hopped to listening to the Boulder Philharmonic at Chautauqua Auditorium, not very challenging terrain even to a flatlander. I could see a even a non-shroomed college kid getting themselves in trouble on the Flatirons.

>Sounds like some crazy shrooms.

I've seen weak psychedelics mess up kids who weren't mentally or emotionally prepared for the journey.

Yeah, my brother in law, who lives in Long Island, on his first trip out here casually went and climbed 1, 2 and 3. Had a great time! I would have warned him against it, but I had no idea until he
showed up much later that afternoon.

I love the Auditorium. I've played there and recorded there and it's a fantastic space.

I guess so. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to judging that sort of thing. My guess is that there's a lot more going on in the audiences for which I play than I would imagine!

Be safe, everyone.

I never completely trusted things 100% - whether it was what I was consuming, whether it was my emotional state of mind, whether it was the reliability of the people and/or environment around me. So, I always said, "Give me a little less than average," or, "I'm just going to take one hit," whenever these sorts of things were being handed out. Now, there are times I wished I had been able to journey a little farther out, or even a lot farther out, but there was never a time when I regretted how much I had taken. That's the only bummer, for me, with psychedelics - I don't want to take too much, and trying to stay certain of that keeps things a little reigned in. Then again, I've had some of the most awesome experiences doing it just the way I do it.

I always found a way to disregard the doctors' advice. One hit ain't enough jack you better make it three.

Nothing weak about shrooms.
