"Hair" from the play of the same name mentions the Grateful Dead.

JOan Baez had a song from about 1984 that mentions the Grateful Dead,
though the title escapes me now. Some song about or to Gabe, her son born
soon after Woodstock.

Eric Burdon's "Monterey" mentions the Dead.

There must be others.

Though it's interesting, the anti-Dead songs come later, while the
pro-Dead references are mostly in their earlier days.

In an ancillary way, "I saw a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac..."

Had you not posted this I would have gone to my grave having never heard of any of these bands. So thanks for that (I think).

A classic.

"Sometimes the sun is shining on me, sometimes it's raining out.
Lately it occurs to me, I just want to scream and shout." (something
to that effect)

It looks like Alice Cooper was a big dead fan.

Wasn't the entire punk movement, starting with
Velvet Underground, anti-GDead? Well, not GD per
se, but anti-beauty; "we're sick of sweet
feelgood music, we're mad as hell, we want ugly
feelbad!" Rebels without a cause, you know -

But really, that ain't so original - look up the
Dada movement, circa 1920. Same motives - "Let's
do whatever our parents hate"

There's nothing new under the sun -
