I'm becoming painfully aware that there are a shit-ton of straight awful Willie Nelson albums.. Good god, man. How hard is it to figure out that Willie, a couple guitars (at best) and a sparse rhythm section is the way to go? It can't take Rick Rubin to figure this shit out...

But, beyond Red-Headed Stranger, Willie Sings Kristofferson, Willie and the Wheel (oh hell yeah), Yesterday's Wine, Phases and Stages and the IRS tapes, what else is there to this catalog? I've got a couple other albums I haven't yet gotten to (Teatro, Cindy Walker), and then there's the Highwaymen... But I know I'm missing a couple or more worthwhile additions.... Fill me in.

The Highwaymen is quite good. There's a vid of their

I think the album Stardust hits the spot just right at times.
Shows the range for sure.
Have you seen the movie On The Road Again Andrew?

Sounds like you were just a wee bit too wasted ....

This discussion would be all yours if the topic was about Free Willie,
you'd love that. I am NOT talking about that series of movies about
the Killer Whale.

Um, free willie.
A willie is one word of several in British English slang words for
penis.

Oh yes, the girls clamored for Free Willie, Free Willie. Jessica and her
daughter clamored a lot for Hanson. It was "Hanson Hanson Hanson and MORE
Hanson!" I think awl that stopped when lil' Billy came around. At least it
did for Alison.

If you remember I told you Alison always has around 25 other like-minded
Alisons always with her. You wanna go fuck with them? I sure don't.

And btw, if you like Willie Nelson that much why don't you go and suck his
cock?

Totally agree with Teatro and Across the Borderline.

The newish Country Music is good, too. The one that Ryan Adams
produced (where Willie does Stella Blue) is good.

What tha? You sent me a live Willie show from 1979, when he was touring with Dr. John...you wisely suggested to skip the Dr John parts....that was my intro to Willie, thank you very much. Btw, Willie's x-mas album from the late 70s is pretty good too.

I saw him at Summer Camp in 2009. Very nice show. I've got a ton of pictures from right up front.
