I purchased newish car a few months back and with it came a trial subscription to siriusxm radio. Yes I listen to GD Radio now and again, but I spend the bulk of my listening to the Deep Tracks channel.

A few weeks back one of the DJ's, Dusty Street, made a comment that Scorsese is going to make a Jerry Garcia biopic using Johan Hill for the Jerry part. My reaction is the title to this thread (myopic biopic in my estimation). Sooooo, comment and discuss if you feel so inclined.

I honestly got quite bored with the first couple of Garcia books I tried
to slog through. I haven't read the vast majority of GD stuff published
since Garcia's death, and don't ever plan to. I seriously doubt I watch
the movie.

Not that they were bad books, mind you. They were better than any GD
flavored writing I have ever done. I just don't think pen and paper
ever really catches the most essential parts of any musical experience,
especially the parts that really move me.

I don't know Scorsese's work, although I have heard of him. I just
don't watch many flicks, and if I'm going to, it will be something
completely creative, or goofy, and not documentary style. It may turn
out to be an awesome project that moves a lot of people, but I likely
won't be one of them.

I noted my prosopagnosia last time I posted here, with some lengthy
descriptions of how I recognize people (or not) when I see them out of
context. I suspect that many of the same issues play into why I find TV
and movies unsatisfying.

If you didn't read my prosopagnosia post, go back to 3/30/20 and brush up.

That brings me to a warning for any naive people that may be left here
in this newsgroup. There are many bad actors around here, and once I
posted my prosopagnosia story last year, my phone has been hacked
hundreds of times by bad actors who came to me through RMGD. That
doesn't necessarily mean they are Deadheads.

They dial numbers on my phone when it is on the other side of the room.

They jump into the middle of text message exchanges I am having with
family/friends, type out a litany of juvenile cryptic crappolas in the
style of Winslow Taylor, mimicking the initials I used to identify
people in that post. I really wasn't trying to be cryptic in that post,
I merely used initials to avoid posting anybody's real name online.
They have scared the living crap out of my mother doing this.

I have saved screenshots of all this cryptic crappola, although quite
frankly, I haven't tried to decipher it. I'm not going to waste my time
on it, as they didn't have enough class to put their name on it. It may
take a professional if it ever comes to that.

They were just on my phone yesterday, which make about 20 straight
months of hacker harassment.

Ultimately, I think one of the people I used as an coded cryptic example
online (3/30/20) is either a cop, or the partner of a cop, because this
has had all the earmarks of a blue line harassment campaign.

Last week, they burglarized my apartment (not the first time) and stole
two things: A photograph of my nephew posing with George W. Bush, and a
disc containing backup files of much of my writing. This includes the
saga of Winslow Taylor, aka "The Great Bologna Conflict," which is, of
course, inter alia, a satirical take on the Iraq war.

"There's a massive stockpile of bologna in Washington."
"There's a massive amount of turkey."
"They have a massive amount of firepower."
"There's a massive amount of manure."

They actually didn't get the final draft, though :~)

I actually recently ran into the very first person I pitched TGBC to,
although, true to form, I didn't recognize her until after the fact, and
after I had run through a half dozen alternate people.

She is a librarian and I pitched the idea in the front lobby of the
Kennebunk Public Library before I ever wrote a single word. You know
about libraries, don't you? Those are places you might go to find
something to

perhaps even by a specific author.

p.s. 3/30/20 was actually the date of my last post in the "a Dios"
thread. The prosopagnosia discussion was on 11/19/19 in the same
thread. The incessant hacking/harassment began a few weeks later and
has been ongoing since April 2020.
