Yeah! Let me know about the Dead screen saver as soon as it becomes a
reality, OK? I've got a Mac.

Amy Shelton who I convinced to go to her first show, the Seva benefit with The Band in Toronto 10 years ago, her husband Dave Jacobs, Kim Disney, and Berkeley Systems have teamed up with Grateful Dead Merchandising to produce D2S2, the Digital Dead screen saver. Both a screen saver and an application, this product will feature many traditional Grateful Dead themes, as well as a bunch of new ones including the Skeleton Skater Sam. Dancing Bears will dance across your screen. There will be a special feature built in which allows computers to conserve a significant amount of energy. If you buy this software, besides being cool, it will help you save money and preserve natural resources. Send me email with info on if you are Mac or PC based, and I'll send you order info as soon as it is available which should be in the next several months. This will be cool.
IT sounds cool! Sign me up!

That would be cool, I'd love to have it running on the Sun I'm setting up.
According to Berkeley Systems, there are no plans to port After Dark to
UNIX. We keep reminding them, there's going to be trouble if you don't
feed the UNIX guys, but their heads seem to be more in the potential # of
customers per platform, as opposed to the average intelligence of the
user. ;-)
Due to a bug in the (I believe, no lawsuits please ;-)) Mozilla

it before, don't read it again, unless you enjoyed it in which case,
please do.

Can you imagine how much network bandwidth would be chewed up with all these
idle X terminals running screen-saver animations??

I think it's because most discerning UNIX users are just too mature and
intelligent to bother with such nonsense...

When running in 'local mode' (ie, setenv DISPLAY :0.0) there is NO (zero, zip,

looped back via software. No ethernet packets, etc.
[sorry about the techie talk] ;-)
