"33 1/3"

A once in a lifetime, only one in the world, non-stop improvisational
musical event"

Project Overview

After a successful 14 hour improvisation show earlier this year known
simply as "14" Chris Boulet and Willie Oteri are hosting "33 1/3". 33
plus hours of non-stop improvised music in late October. "14" drew more
than 50 musicians from around the world and a constant flow of spectators
keeping the Club Banale in Padua jumping.

With "33 1/3" the organizers hope to have booths, as well as the live
music, selling CDs, artworks and offering information on the music
business, politics, etc. This is a large club with a very large stage and
sound system, great lighting, nearby lodging and large parking areas.
Padua is a beautiful Italian city just west of Venice with great
architecture, artworks, museums, food, parks and great people.

"33 1/3" will also provide a chance for musicians to present their own
music in an improvised environment. The natural progression of these
events dictates slightly more structure than was presented at "14",
although the music will never stop there will be times when groups and
individual artists are showcased.

There will be screens and spaces available for visual arts, and stage
space for performance art.

What We Have

We have the crew of Banale for sound, security, etc, several key
musicians and artists to get things rolling, some drum kits, instrument
amps, keyboards. In most cases you need bring only your main instrument,
plug in and go. In case of keyboards you may only need some of your
personal effect units or in case of drums your favorite kick pedal, snare
or cymbals.

What We Need

For the promoters, this is a "non profit" event and admission to the
event is free.

We are seeking funding and advertisers to help bring a few more musicians
of name to this event. This can be either some form direct to us to use
to bring musicians and artists whom you would like to see or in the case
that you are a label, promoter, manager or agent you can arrange for your
artist to be part of this event. (See projected costs below.) As a
performer if you wish to donate your time that would be of great service.

We need donations in the form of cash or equipment rentals to help with
recording and filming this once in a lifetime event. This is truly an
"only one in the world" event and will draw the attention of
publications, promoters and fans from around the world.

As always there are more than enough guitarists so, if you or your artist
is a guitarist we would prefer that the artist be on a level that can
benefit the event though advertising. This may be waved if this is a
direct invite. What we really need is instruments such as horns, strings,
keyboards, percussion, etc. Horns, keyboard players and jazz or
progressive drummers are encouraged. Also, we need volunteers for stage
crew, instrument techs, film crew, recording techs, cleanup, etc. If you
qualify and would like to be part of this event please contact us.

Why are we doing this?

In our present world where creative music seems to be some kind bad word
or worse not even relevant to some folks we figured "why not" show the
world how real music can be made on the spot. Several of the worlds
greatest recordings have been made in a improvised environment so take it
a step further and make it somewhat of a spectacle to help draw attention
to the creative side of the art of music. The person behind all this is
Chris Boulet, pizza maker, somewhat reluctant genius, songwriter, singer,
agent and producer who after the first 5 plus hour event like this a few
years ago turned the recordings into a very creative album "Monkey with a
Thumb". Willie Oteri, the person behind the critically acclaimed highly
improvisational album "Spiral Out" (produced by Ronan Chris Murphy) met
Chris Boulet in Italy several months ago and together they promoted "14"
which also led to some great recordings. We are hoping that 33 1/3 will
surpass anything of this type that has ever been done before.

Dates

The scheduled dates for this event are October 18th and 19th this year

Examples of costs for projected funding

A flight from New York to Venice is appoxamatley $700 to $800 dollars per
person round trip. This cost will be higher near the date of the event.

Lodging in Padua is from $40 or $50 dollars and up per night, per person
for a clean safe room.

Recording and film equipment needed can run several hundred dollars per
day for rental plus someone to run the equipment and set it up.

The cost of a name musician which would help greatly to promote the event
can run from in the hundreds to thousands of dollars per day and up plus
travel and lodging. If you are interested in providing funding for a
