Hey Now...
Saw your post and here's the reply....
I had the same question earlier today but I went web hunting and
found the info at the following link
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~mleone/gdead/faq/faq.html
or you could link to it from my WEB page at
http://arts.uwaterloo.ca/~sdrueffe
Hope this helps, and maybe we'll bump some time this summer if
you get out on the road...

Subject: TOUR DATES, CONFIRMED and RUMOURED
The tour is complete now, the remaining TBAs have been filled in. Perhaps
the Oregon Country Fair Board of Directors acceptance of the Furthur festival
was contingent on only having one show, so the second show was dropped,
allowing the Gorge to be added. And Irvine Meadows moved from Aug. 1 to
Aug. 2, opening up Aug. 1 for the Ventura dust bowl. :-)
Only one more date has been announced for mail order, however, Wolf
Mountain. So expect more mail order announcements later this week perhaps.
As usual, check the hotline message as posted in full at the bottom, which
includes all the ticket prices and status of all the mail orders.
Tomorrow, May 7th, marks the four year anniversary of the TDC&R post. I'll
probably repost it (just to dead-flames/rec.music.gdead), as a blast from
the past.
*****************************************************************************
I post this tour schedule to rec.music.gdead/dead-flames and the dead-heads
mailing list when appropriate. I have no rumour input other than what comes
across the net or what I get in email in response to this post. I maintain
the dates as being "rumoured" until they appear on the hotline or are
announced for local ticket sales. If you would like to contribute something,
please email me at les...@gandalf.sp.trw.com.
# = info change since last posting (4/30/96) <-not using at the moment
*****************************************************************************
You can get the info about subscribing to the dead-heads list by sending an
email to dead-head...@gdead.berkeley.edu and you will get an auto-reply
with the instructions. The dead-heads list is a low-volume mailing list that
only includes setlists, updated hotline messages, show announcements, Grateful
Dead Hour radio program listings, this TDC&R post, etc.
*****************************************************************************
You can get the following files from the archives at gdead.berkeley.edu through
ftp or gopher or www (gopher://gdead.berkeley.edu/). You can also get them

following commands (each on their own line):

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The spirit endures, and so does music. Musicians must play, and Dead Heads
must dance. It's time to move on -- and hit the road. The Grateful Dead
family and Metropolitan Entertainment take great pleasure in announcing our
summer '96 tour: "The Furthur Festival," with band members Bob Weir (Ratdog
with Rob Wasserman, Matthew Kelly, Jay Lane, and the legendary Johnnie
Johnson), Mickey Hart (Mickey Hart's Mystery Box), unofficial member Bruce
Hornsby, and old friends Los Lobos and Hot Tuna. With The Flying Karamazov
Brothers and acoustic musicians between acts and an all-out Vendor's Faire
on the concourse, the guys are ready to do what they do best -- spread joy
across America. The tour will run from June 20 to
August 4, hitting 31 amphitheatres across the country.
The whole is even greater than the sum of its parts, and this is quite a
whole; together, we expect the special magical synergy that has taken all of
us down thirty years of so many, many roads.
The spirit doesn't just endure; it can triumph.
Put on your dancing shoes!

Duplications of any kind will cause disqualification of all involved orders.
Write ANYTHING on your order if you will accept lawn instead of reserved, or
write RESERVED ONLY if that is all you will accept.
The mail order for Atlanta, Charlotte, Darien Lake and The Meadows is over.
The first date to mail in for Virginia Beach and Bristow was April 24th. The

mail in date for Jersey City is May 2nd. The first mail in date for Star
Lake, Polaris, Riverport, Sandstone and Wolf Mountain is May 3rd.
All orders must be sent in a #10 sized envelope. (This is important: on the
outside of your order to us list which concerts and how many tickets to each
concert that you want. Don't forget to put your full name and address on the
outside.) Your order must also include a #10 sized self-addressed stamped
envelope with 32 cents in postage for 1-8 tickets, 55 cents for 9 to 16
tickets and 78 cents for over 16 tickets. Also include a 3 x 5 index card
with your name, address, area code and phone number in the upper left hand
corner. List how many tickets and which concerts you want.
There will be an audio taping section at these concerts. It will be located
on the lawn in a roped off area. It will be very limited so please write
taper on your order if you are interested in taping. Taping is for
non-commercial home use only. All performances are the property of the
performing artist and The Furthur Festival, Inc.
We cannot be responsible for tickets lost, stolen or delivered late by the
post office. For this reason we strongly suggest that you have your order
sent back by registered mail. Please note that due to postal increases the
registration fee for this service has increased to $6.75. This includes a
charge to us for this service. Add the registered fee to your money order,
do not put extra stamps on your return envelope.
Your payment must be a postal money order or an American Express Money Order
only. No other payment will be accepted. No cash and
no personal checks. Make check payable to:
GDTS TOO-Furthur Festival.
Keep your receipt. If your order is not filled your payment will be returned
to you. Remember, orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis
by postmark not by when we receive them. We WILL accept express mail, BUT
NOT Federal Express, DHL, etc. And absolutely no metered mail of any kind.
This includes metered strips of any kind, so if you go to the post office
and give them money for postage make sure that they put on actual stamps and
not a metered strip. Make sure that your full name and address are on the
outside of your order to us, your return envelope and on your payment. Also,
make sure that your full name and address are on the outside of your order
to us, your return envelope and on your payment. Also, make sure that your
address is correct or you won't get your tickets.
Reserved seats for these concerts are limited. If you want to make sure that
you get tickets regardless of whether they are reserved or lawn, then
enclose two money orders. One for the lawn price, in case that's all we have
left, and another money order for the difference between lawn and reserved
prices. The difference is as follows:
Bristol - $5.00 per ticket
Alpine - $7.50 per ticket
The World - $7.50 per ticket
Blossom - $7.00 per ticket
Saratoga - $5.00 per ticket
Camden - $7.50 per ticket
Polaris - $3.00 per ticket
Multiply the above amount by the number of tickets you are ordering. If we
have reserved tickets left we would use both money orders and if we only
have lawn tickets left we would use just your money order for lawn tickets
and return the other money order. If you are having your tickets sent back
by registered mail, add the $6.75 fee to the money order for lawn tickets.
The only address to send to is:
GDTS TOO-FURTHUR FESTIVAL (And put the concert you want)
Box C-S 8150

There has been some confusion about the 1st day for the mail in orders
for the July 24th show at The Hilton Amphitheatre in Reno, Nevada
and the Cal Expo Amphitheatre in Sacramento, California. My
understanding is that any date after May 10th will be accepted for
both shows. The hot-line message stated the mail order was to
begin May 13th, while the worldwide web pages at
http://grateful.dead.net/hotline_info/hotinfo.html did at one time state
that those mail orders would begin My 10th. The mail in date for
Cal Expo Amphitheatre doesn't really matter because it is a general
admission show.
With respect to the Cal Expo Amphitheatre show in Sacramento,
California, there has been date change. The show will be on Monday
July 29th (instead of Thursday July 25th).

VENTURA AND IRVINE WAS MAY 10TH. THE FIRST MAIL IN DATE FOR THE GORGE AND
THE OREGON COUNTRY FAIRGROUNDS IS MAY 20TH.
At this point the following is true concerning the status of mail orders
that are still in house:
If you ordered reserved seats or preferred reserved seats, you will get
them. This is true for all venues except for Deer Creek, Saratoga and
Shoreline. In these three places we do not have enough reserved seats to
fill all the requests. Reserved seat requests for these venues will be
filled on a first come, first served basis by postmark of orders, ***NOT***
by when we receive them. In other words, if you requested "reserved or
anything" and are postmarked before a request for only reserved, you will
get reserved if we still have them.
We sort your orders by postmark only for each venue and after that it is
random as to who get filled and who doesn't.
I hope that this clears up a lot of questions.
As always, thank you for using GDTS TOO. We have been able to employ 6 of
our old ticket office employee's because of your orders.
Feel free to repost this where ever needed.

The whole is even greater than the sum of its parts, and this is quite a
whole; together, we expect the special magical synergy that has taken all
of us down thirty years of so many, many roads.
The spirit doesn't just endure; it can triumph.
Put on your dancing shoes!

You may order up to 6 tickets per concert. You may order Virginia Beach and
Bristow together in one order. You may order Alpine and The World together
in one order. You may order Blossom and Pine Knob together in one order.
You may order Star Lake and Polaris Amphitheatre together in one order. You
may order Riverport and Sandstone together in one order. Raleigh, Saratoga,
Old Orchard Beach, Great Woods, Jersey City, Camden, Fiddler's Green, Wolf
Mountain, Reno, The Gorge, Oregon, Cal Expo, Shoreline, Ventrua, Irvine and
Phoenix must be ordered in separate orders.
One order per person and each person must fill out their own mail order.
Duplications of any kind will cause disqualification of all involved
orders. Write ANYTHING on your order if you will accept lawn instead of
reserved, or write RESERVED ONLY if that is all you will accept.
Lawn or general admission tickets are still available by mail order for all
announced venues. The first mail in date for Fiddler's Green, Cal Expo,
Shoreline and Phoenix was May 13th. The first mail in date for Reno,Ventura
and Irvine was May 10th. The first mail in date for The Gorge and The
Oregon Country Fairgrounds is May 20th.
All orders must be sent in a #10 sized envelope. (This is important: on the
outside of your order to us list which concerts and how many tickets to
each concert that you want. Don't forget to put your full name and address
on the outside.) Your order must also include a #10 sized self-addressed
stamped envelope with 32 cents in postage for 1-8 tickets, 55 cents for 9
to 16 tickets and 78 cents for over 16 tickets. Also include a 3 x 5 index
card with your name, address, area code and phone number in the upper left
hand corner.
Your payment must be a postal money order or an American Express Money
Order only. No other payment will be accepted. No cash and
no personal checks. Make check payable to:
GDTS TOO-Furthur Festival.
Keep your receipt. If your order is not filled your payment will be
returned to you. Remember, orders will be filled on a first come, first
served basis by postmark not by when we receive them. We WILL accept
express mail, BUT NOT Federal Express, DHL, etc. And absolutely no metered
mail of any kind. This includes metered strips of any kind, so if you go to
the post office and give them money for postage make sure that they put on
actual stamps and not a metered strip. Make sure that your full name and
address are on the outside of your order to us, your return envelope and on
your payment. Also, make sure that your full name and address are on the
outside of your order to us, your return envelope and on your payment.
Also, make sure that your address is correct or you won't get your tickets.
Reserved seats for these concerts are limited. If you want to make sure
that you get tickets regardless of whether they are reserved or lawn, then
enclose two money orders. One for the lawn price, in case that's all we
have left, and another money order for the difference between lawn and
reserved prices. The difference is as follows:
For Fiddlers' Green - $2.50 per ticket
For Shoreline - $5.00 per ticket
Multiply the above amount by the number of tickets you are ordering. If we
have reserved tickets left we would use both money orders and if we only
have lawn tickets left we would use just your money order for lawn tickets
and return the other money order. If you are having your tickets sent back
by registered mail, add the $6.75 fee to the money order for lawn tickets.
The only address to send to is:
GDTS TOO-FURTHUR FESTIVAL (And put the concert you want)
Box C-S 8150
San Rafael, California 94912
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
Please remember to check your tickets when you receive them.

Subject: TOUR DATES, CONFIRMED and RUMOURED
Cc: les...@gandalf.sp.trw.com
Status: R
All mail order dates and local on sale dates have now been announced for
the Furthur Festival. Several of the dates have changed since the last
posting:
July 26th - The Gorge
July 28th - Veneta
July 29th - Cal Expo
Rumour has it that there may still be two shows in Veneta (the other date
being the 27th), but I don't know how true that is. Veneta may also appear
on the net as a video/audio broadcast.
The full details of mail order are included at the bottom from the webpage,
including the status of the on-going mail orders.
# = info change since last posting (5/6/96) <-not using at the moment
*****************************************************************************
You can get the info about subscribing to the dead-heads list by sending an
email to dead-head...@gdead.berkeley.edu and you will get an auto-reply
with the instructions. The dead-heads list is a low-volume mailing list that
only includes setlists, updated hotline messages, show announcements, Grateful
Dead Hour radio program listings, this TDC&R post, etc.

**Mail order status as of Friday May 17th:
If you ordered reserved seats or preferred reserved seats, you will get them
except for Deer Creek, Saratoga and Shoreline. In these three places we do
not have enough reserved seats to fill all the request. Reserved seat
requests for these venues will be filled on a first come, first served basis
by postmark of orders, NOT by when we receive them. In other words, if you
requested "reserved or anything" and are postmarked before a request for
"reserved only" you will get reserved seats if we still have them. If you
ordered lawn or general admission for any venue your order will be filled.
We sort your orders by postmark only for each venue and after that it is a
random pick.

Phoenix must be ordered in separate orders.
One order per person and each person must fill out their own mail order.
Duplications of any kind will cause disqualification of all involved orders.
Write ANYTHING on your order if you will accept lawn instead of reserved, or
write RESERVED ONLY if that is all you will accept.
Lawn or general admission tickets are still available by mail order for all
announced venues. The first mail in date for Fiddler's Green, Cal Expo,
Shoreline and Phoenix was May 13th. The first mail in date for Reno,Ventura
and Irvine was May 10th. The first mail in date for The Gorge and The Oregon
Country Fairgrounds is May 20th.
