|>oug,

I am a former Google employee, and according to a whole bunch of similar
ex employees, trust me, you don't want to be a Google employee.

I had joined an email list/group of ex-Google employees and there was an
ongoing discussion about why people left, many points I agreed with.
One day someone pointed out this discussion had become public.

So read this:

That sounds more or less like working for any corporate behemoth. But
unlike most of them, Google actually makes products that I like and care
about. Apple is another exception, but who wants to work for Steve Jobs???

Working at Harvard has been no walk in the park either, so when finding
employment, you just have to figure out who makes the best slave-master.

P.S. How did you solve all those crazy puzzles and coding problems that
Google throws at you all day long during their grueling interview process?
I actually can figure out what to do if shrunk down to the size of a nickel
and tossed into an empty blender that's going to be turned on in 60 seconds.
Unfortunately, I can't figure it out in 60 seconds. Now it's probably the
case that with my shrunken down brain, I'd think 86.2 times faster, and that
would give me 86.2 minutes from my point of view to come up with the answer
(either that, or I'd have so many fewer neurons that I probably wouldn't be
able to figure out much of anything at all, except for how to look for
cheese), but even 86.2 minutes wouldn't be enough for me. I'd need to sleep
on the problem, and I don't think that Google would let me make use of one
of their famous nap rooms during a job interview....

Hi Douglas,

I have noticed that the connection with the usenet has been restored
(rec.music.gaffa shows the same messages as in my mailbox), and so I'd
like to unsubscribe from the actual mails (as they are also in
usenet....).. But how do I unsubscribe?

Thanks for the effort you put in so far,

Cor

Hi Cor,

To unsubscribe from this group, send email to <
love-hounds...@googlegroups.com<love-hounds%2Bunsu...@googlegroups.com>
>.

If you still want to be able to post, you should probably register for
Google Groups. You can link as many email addresses to your Google Groups
account as you want, and then you can manage your settings on your own for
any Google Group or Usenet Group as you see fit (Google Groups includes all
of Usenet, gmane, etc.).

If you don't want to register for Google Groups, and still want to be able
to post, write back and I'll go change the setting to "no email" for you.
