Or how about Dicken's "Oliver Twist"?
Then there's Stoker's "Dracula".
Or, if you want to talk influenced by, the most obvious is Matheson's "I
Am Legend". Too many films to name here, but the "post
apocalyptic/vampire" genre has it's roots in the original novel.
Frankenstein, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice... Good Lord! There's
nothing Hollywood likes more than an idea that's already been done!
